“A nice enough hotel - very quiet!!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2010

My husband and I got a fantastic rate for this place for a week that we couldn't turn down. It is not a resort, it is a hotel. The pool was very quiet and there was quite a lot of birds that used it for a birdbath. There was no pool bar for drinks or snacks (it was closed and empty) but there is a Super store right by the pool that you could buy a cold beer. The room was all right and clean, but the bathroom needed updating badly. Also the room had no clock radio or safe.

If you are looking for activities by the pool this is not the place to stay. We did not eat at the restaurant as it was always empty. There seemed to be quite a few more mexican tourists staying here than from Canada/US. I don't think I would return, but it was worth the money we paid to stay here.

“Great place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2007

The hotel is located in the Golden Zone. It is more of a business man's type of hotel. One restaurant open 24 hours and one bar only open on weekends. It was very clean and the employees were very helpful and friendly. The beach was beautiful with a heated pool. The beds were perfect. The best place for a good cheap breakfast is next door at Chili Peppers.
The only negative comment I have is that the front desk rarely had any money to exchange and would not cash travelers cheques. In fact, I would recommend not bringing travelers cheques it was difficult to find a place to cash them.
The safes are located at the front desk which was also a small inconvenience. We were in room 803 did not hear the traffic just the sound of the ocean.

“Excellent stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2006

We recently stayed at the Fiesta Inn for two nights. The room was clean and the staff very friendly. The room had an excellent view of the beach. It looked like most of the rooms had beach views. No complaints about the room. The TV worked and had cable not that we spent much time watching it. Shower was fine. The beds were firm...maybe too much for some folks but fine for me. We were glad that there weren't many if any spring break students staying at the Inn. Hotels closer to town appeared to have lots. It was easy to get around downtown via the buses that came by. The pool area was really nice. It is on the small side and could get crowded if lots of folks picked it over the beach/ocean. The beach area was nice and there were an area sectioned off with beach chairs. It would be on the top of my list when going back. BTW, we got reservation via Expedia and had no problems checking in. Also, we got good exchange rates without commission at the front desk.

“Can't beat the price!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2006

Just returned from another great trip to Mazatlan! My wife and I go there about twice a year, and on this last trip, we stayed at the Fiesta Inn for our first time. I will say that we consider ourselves very experienced on Mexico travel. The things that we found ourselves pleasantly surprised with was how clean and uncrowded this hotel was. The grounds are clean, beautiful, and the pool is great. Additionally, this is the widest and cleanest area of beach in all of Mazatlan. The location of the hotel is on the northern end of the "golden zone," so there is less traffic, vendors and timeshare hecklers. Most of the people here were couples between 25-65 years old, with only a few children. The food is good, especially the breakfast buffet. The rooms are spacious and have a great ocean and sunset view. The beds are also the softest we have ever slept on anywhere in Mexico-but still a harder bed! The staff is friendly, and the only negative thing to say was that you had to wave to one of the staff if you were at the pool or snack bar to get service. Once they saw you, the were very polite and attentive, and brought your order quickly. This hotel should be bumped up a star at least, we have spent much more and received less than what the Fiesta Inn has to offer!

“Clean and great for the price!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2006

I went to Mazatlan on my own, so I couldn't afford anything too expensive. I didn't know what to expect for the price, I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of Fiesta Inn. I loved the location; all the rooms have oceanviews and every day it was just a short elevator ride and I was steps away from the beach. It was less crowded at this end of the beach since it isn't located right in heart of the Golden Zone, but I liked this about the hotel.

The Front Desk personnel were generally helpful. My only suggestion is if you would like to plan anything through the recreation desk, do it early in your trip since it doesn't seem that the desk is staffed regular hours. When I go back, I will definitely stay at the Fiesta Inn!
