“Great Value Wonderful Staff!!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2013

So after reading so many reviews that had so many trivial complaints, we went there!

Greeted by Alberto the bellman at the front door and checked in by Yehlina. Room was above expectations. Left 25 pesos for the maid ( sorry but cant remember her name but on 5 th floor. She left three towels , face cloths, and bath mat ). It seems that all of the poor reviews are left by cheapies who pay for 3 star and expect 5 star!
Martin at the bar was great, and the entire staff is great. The hotel seems to cater to Mexican groups for breakfast and lunch meeting with loud music but when in Rome!!!!

My only complaint is that Sunwing should have advised that the hotel was being renovated, and loud construction noise lasted until 9pm each night. On the last night we were offered to move to Luna Palace, which is very nice but we stayed place.
Oceano Palace is great value with a terrific staff....Viva Mazatlan

oh yeah, Fat Fish restaurant is 150 yards away for the best ribs!!!!!!!

Our family of 6 (kids ages 16, 14, 12, and 10) stayed here for a family wedding from March 1-3, 2013. We had a nice-sized junior suite on the 3rd floor for a fantastic price! This was a very clean hotel on the beach.
The lobby check in staff was just OK. All other staff at the hotel from restaurant to maid service was great! The buffet in was reasonably priced and delicious. The hotel was going through a remodel, but regardless, it remained clean and didn't experience any noise. Contractors were also very courteous.
The rooms were very clean, however, some balcony locks required effort to lock, but they did lock. Some windows needed repair and entrance doors did not have the traditional door swing guard which offers extra security. But regardless of these few anomalies, our family did have a fun and relaxing stay. The pool and entire are was clean and the hotel offered enough security to make us feel safe.
I certainly would recommend this family friendly hotel.

Room Tip: Some corner balconies are shared, so please let the staff know if you want privacy with your own bal...

Hotel staff were so nice to us, always giving us honest information about tours and main attractions in Mazatlán. So far it's has been our favorite trip. We are for sure going back to Oceano Palace.
Good points:Nice hotel. Good sized rooms and good beach and calm ocean.
Bad:The rooms were very simple, there was an old TV, however a perfect way to get away.

This was my second time here and i'm just reinstating what i posted last year. This is not a five star resort and it is reflected in the price. The place slowly being renovated, restaurant was ok, but the service makes up for it. The staff is nice and helpful. We had a great time last year ,this year, and i'm sure we will have a great time next year. I feel it could not do better for the price we paid. If you're looking for a nice vacation at a resonable price this is the place. They have a very nice pool and bar thats beach front. A great wait staff that makes you feel comfortable. Thank You Ocean Palace See you next year.

Hotel was laid back and perfect. Not a lot of activities for the kids but they enjoyed the pool and ocean. Inexpensive and clean. Staff was courteous and accomodating. We met Tonny was very helpful for planning our day trips. We rented a 2 room suite with small kitchen. We also tasted the breakfast buffet and it was great! Room smelled a little musty, but that is expected when right on the beach I guess. We would stay at this hotel again.

Upon arrival I immediately planned to change hotels as this is an older somewhat dumpy looking 2nd or3rd class place. Cheaply furnished with pink dressers, etc. Our suite had twin beds in living room and no couch. My family was ok with it and agreed to stay a couple days and try it and we came to like it for what it is. After all our room had a nice balcony overlooking the ocean.

Great location on the beach with many highly rated restaurants a very short walk away. Plenty of palapas on the beach and no shortage of chaise lounges. Drinks very inexpensive and good menu of poolside fare. The staff is great and it is clean.

So if you want a gold star resort keep looking but if you're comfortable with Mexican funky it has many good points.

We stayed for 6 days in Oceano Palace, It was directly on the beach, The front desk there was amazing. Always there to help, friendly and willing to chat about anything. Very helpful with directions and things to do. the room was fine, clean and had wifi. The beach was really nice, walking on the beach they had banana boating, parasailing and jet skiing for very reasonable prices. Even though it wasnt the best resort in the world if offered what we were looking for..Thank you!
