This was my 4th time to Mazatlan and 16th to Mexico. I normally stayed at the El Cid until our timeshare at the Torres Mazatlan. The Torres was full so I look around on this site before deciding the the La Siesta. There was construction so you may want to email or call, but besides that here is my review.
I will never stay anywhere but the La Siesta again. Rooms were very clean and the hotel was nice. I would say very quaint and charming (and I am known for being somewhat of a diva) with awesome views. We sat on the balcony and watched the surfers, families, lovers and joggers go down the Malacon. Their is AC, cable, dressers, small desk with chairs and clean bathrooms. Martha was our maid too, and we loved her. One thing I realized was that we were not "stuck" at our hotel. We came and did when ever and loved the charming old town feel. It really reminded me of a cross between South Beach and New Orleans. Our options for eating, shopping, beaches, site seeing etc. were endless and within walking distance. It was my first time in Mazatlan that I never ONCE took a bus.
One more thing you must know is the Shrimp Bucket. I read mixed reviews and I ate there every day if not twice a day. The chilorio omlett is out of this world and the shrimp sandwich made me tear up a little just as an example. Alex the owner was one of the nicest people along with the cutie Erensto (with and without glasses) the two Davids and Adrain made us want to just stop and say hello (and maybe drool a little). You must go at least once, I did every day for 10 days.
Stay at the Hotel La Siesta .....you will not regret it.
