We always enjoy staying at Marina El Cid, so much that we consider it our second home. My wife and I stay there several times a year. We also bring friends with us and they are always impressed with the level of service and the quality of the accomodations- even a couple who are Pueblo Bonito owners were surprised how much they enjoyed staying at Marina El Cid. The hotel itself is lovely, clean and a short shuttle ride to the other El Cid facilities (which you have access to during your stay here) and the Golden Zone. The staff is always friendly and dedicated to making every aspect of your stay as enjoyable as possible. The wait staff at the pools, restaurants and bar are great-fast and friendly. I am very pleased that Marina El Cid now has its own Club Elite Lounge. The entire staff there is also top-notch. I would like to point out that Andrea as extraordinary during this stay. Whether it was arranging dinner reservations, preparing a drink or snack, assisting with the computers or simply engaging in conversation, it was always pleasant, almost delightful to deal with her and I look forward to seeing her again when we return for our fourth visit of the year in June. Andrea, like many other Marina El Cid staff make it very difficult to leave when your stay is over. I only wish I had could thank them all personally.

Great spacious rooms, nice and clean with a little fridge and kitchen. Close to everything by bus. Very helpful staff especially check in staff, got a cart ride to our room. One of the most unique pools I've seen with caves waterfalls etc. Very neat set up and surroundings with all the boats nearby. The paid Wifi however is horrible rarely connects and VERY slow. I'd suggest just using wifi in nearby offsite restaurants / cafes. Everything else made up for it.

We had a half day shore excursion to the El Cid complex from our cruise ship so we did not stay overnight. The beach was relatively private with only a few vendors who were restricted to an area outside of the beach chairs. Seating on the beach was somewhat limited, but did include fixed shade structures. The beach was sandy and nice to walk, which you could do for a long ways.

We were there in early March and the surf was a bit too big and the water too cool to really enjoy. Only a handful of people were in the water. We also used their 2 larger swimming pools. One was heated and only about 4.5 feet deep with a swim to bar. The other had a faux rock environment and was deeper, but way too cool to enjoy.

We could only recommend this place if you just want to lounge on the beach.

We booked our Diamond Resorts points at this affiliate resort. The only thing available was a 2 bedroom lock-off so we booked in and then invited another couple to go with us. The resort provided free transportation from the airport, and also for our friends who came in two hours later than us. Check-in was flawless. The rooms were large, with one suite and a junior studio with privacy doors. Both balconies overlooked the marina and smaller pool and the sunsets were gorgeous.
Though we had a plumbing emergency with a shower handle, they fixed it on a Saturday evening in no time at all. Every member of the staff there was very polite and accommodating and they were very quick to make sure we had what we needed. Daily, our bed was made, fresh towels were put in place and we had the nice touch of chocolates on the bed in the evening (something you do not normally get at a Diamond resort).
The exchange rate at the front desk was reasonable and so we did our money changing there even though there are ATM’s for pesos and dollars in the lobby. We do not recommend the “all-inclusive.” We would find it hard to eat $45 per person per day, or if we did, we would have to buy extra wide seats for the ride home. The food both in and out of the resort is reasonable.

Room Tip: Top floor, marina view

Just returned from Mazatlan from a week at the resort. The resort is well kept, very very clean, rooms are excellent ,a/c worked great. The tv had issues but no big deal there. It is a marina resort yet you cannot go down and walk on the docks at all to see the boats.....locked gates!!!! No beach....they have a shuttle boat to take you across the canal so you can walk to the beach but it doesnt operate at dark so no romantic moonlit walks on the beach...No evening entertainment..No specialty cafes..so the food is so so and you get tastier and less expensive elswhere...A long walk from the entrance to anywhere else...There is a shuttle to take you to other el cids but they will not stop and let you off anywhere else but a el cid resort....Exchange rate was 14.0 there it was 15.2 the same time at Pueblo Bonita resort so you are being taken on the exchange rate..Staff was fairly good and our maid Lupita was excellent....I found Alexis from the lobby to be rude...he was making fun and laughing about my disabilities on the day we left...leg crushed by a log truck years ago and I walk in pain ...If he worked for me he would have been fired on the spot !!!! There is nothing to draw me back and I will never go back !!!!

Great place for family and friends. Food was somewhat repetitive in the buffet, but I go to a sunny vacation for the sun, sea and atmosphere. We upgraded to Club Elite and it was weel worth the extra money for a family of 5 (2 teenagers and a 10 year old). We were able to eat at upgraded resturants and the rool was fabulous! The staff at the Clun Elite cound not have been more accommodating and I hope the resort manager is aware of this. I have nothing but good things to say about this resort. It was clean, bright, great pools, great service and location. It was an awesome place for a family since there are no "night clubs or shows" on the resort site. If you are looking for a college spring breat place- this is not it.

ght clubs"

Room Tip: All rooms are good. You can see an excellent sunset right from the beach.
