Just returned again from a stay at the Dolphin Cove Inn, Manzanillo, Mexico. Again, our stay did not disappoint us! The reason we returned to this hotel and this area of Mexico was because we did not want to be part of a "tourist trap". We wanted to "live" our vacation. Do what we wanted when we wanted!!! This year we upped our vacation time to 3 weeks!

The rooms at the Dolphin Cove Inn are clean, spacious, and have a nice Mexican touch to them. The showers always have HOT water and the pressure in the shower is just great!!! Of course the beds are a little hard (just like all Mexican beds) and the pillows a little lumpy!!! The view from the rooms is absolutely spectacular and you can wake/sleep to the sound of the ocean.. How perfect!

The pool area is never really busy so you dont have to set that alarm clock and get up 4:00 a.m. to GET A CHAIR. You can go any time of the day and find a choice spot. Some days you just might be the only one at the pool! :)

If repairs are needed in your room, the service/attention is given quickly and efficiently. Our fridge was not working and once we reported it, it was less than 2 hours and it was fixed. While the fellow was in our room, he noticed our bathroom door knob was loose and fixed it --- without being told!!! How nice!

If we were not satisfied with anything, we just needed to voice our dissatisfaction --- and a solution was found immediately!

The Dolphin Cove Inn and its staff are truly genuinely caring, competent people. Special notice must be given to Isisis, who works in the office. Her cheerful mannerism and the efficiency she brings to the patrons of the Cove is truly commendable! Thank you Isisis for serving us well! Also, to mention are two people who served us in the Paradise Restaurant (Dolphin Cove Inn) --- they were Secorro and Rubin. Their every day smile and just plain good service, were appreciated.

If you want a five star resort, with blaring music, huge swimming pools, and young activitiy directors yelling at you all day long - please stay away from this hotel. This hotel is about peacefulness, quietness, and slow paced. This is a place to grab your book, do some meditation, or just sit there and watch the ocean (you may see a Dolphin or two).

Please note: This hotel has numerous stairs leading to various levels (the restaurant, swimming pool and to hotel rooms). If you are not able to negotiate stairs, this place is not for you. There are no elevators. If you want to get in better shape, try running the stairs to your room every day --- they will kill what ails you!!!!

Again, another peaceful quiet vacation all because of the Dolphin Cove Inn and this location!

My wife and I stayed at this property 2/23-3/1, 2008. We were enchanted by the total effect of the gorgeous landscaping, the ingenuity of how all the steps and rooms fit perfectly into a challenging hillside, the sweeping views of Manzanillo Bay. Our cheerful white-painted room was very tastefully furnished, and its best feature was its substantial balcony, arrayed with four chairs, a couple of recliner lounges, and a table; so conducive to sipping morning coffee, or enjoying an incomparable view of the ocean. Nights were beautiful: its hard to beat a pounding surf for getting lulled to sleep, in my opinion!
The bougainvilleas and other plants and flowers made for outstanding landscaping. My wife and I considered climbing the many steps everyday a mini-workout, a way to burn up some calories! The Inn's restaurant, Paradise, offered excellent food and very friendly service. We were given a free breakfast each day, a very nice hotel amenity.
As great as it was to hang out in this environment, we found it refreshing to visit other area beaches, especially Miramar with its huge waves and reasonable prices on food and cervesas. We caught the local bus right in front of the Inn office, and that was a convenient way to get to all the local destinations.
Staff here was helpful and courteous. We'd return to this gem of a hotel in a heartbeat. Excellent value, excellent atmosphere.

Dolphin Cove Inn is a beautiful hotel on the Pacific Coast, Mexico. We had such a nice one-week stay in November 2007, it was great and we loved every minute of it! It has a beach, a great pool and a really nice restaurant. The service is splendid!! The rooms are cosy and fresh. They all have nice viewes over the ocean and every room have a furnished balcony.

My husband and I just got back from our second stay at Dolphin Cove Inn in 3 years. It was wonderful ... lovely, low key, and very relaxing. The setting is lush and gorgeous and the views from the rooms and the restaurant are stunning. We noticed great improvements in the restaurant and chose to eat in on a number of occasions. The service was great and the food was pretty good too. We were also impressed with Edgar, the concierge, who was helpful on numerous occasions. My only suggestion is to provide umbrellas on the balcony. It gets pretty hot and sunny during the day! This is a great place to stay for people who don't enjoy being around hordes of tourists or staying in cookie cutter resorts. We definitely will be back!

We had a fabulous 4 days at Dolphin Cove Inn. Only problem was that it was not long enough. A great long weekend from Los Angeles but I could have stayed alot longer. We loved the smaller inn style and friendliness (and price!!) but it had all the amenities we needed. The open restaurant next to the pool and overlooking the water was so convenient and relaxing for all our meals. We took a taxi into town to get a change of scenery one night for dinner ,had lunch at one of the adjacent properties one day and used their tennis courts, other than that we were perfectly content to hang out at the pool overlooking the water at DCI, take walks on the waterside walkway and to sip margaritas at sunset. The intimacy and privacy of Dolphin Cove Inn was just what we wanted and needed. We especially liked having access to local amenities but loved not feeling like we were with throngs of tourists and conventions at such bigger properties. Have recommended this hotel to a number of people!
