“Fair service, great guides, wrong time of day”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2012

We had a group of 12 booked for the afternoon trip snorkeling with See to Sea Adventures. The guides spoke English and were very good. Beautiful beach. Another group had the morning trip so we were booked for the afternoon. First, the morning trip was an hour late in returning so we waited and waited - too long. Secondly, as the web site says, the water is rough and cloudy in the afternoon. Didn't see much as the water was murky and too rough to snorkel in. So I would not waste your money going in the afternoon. Maybe try the morning time. Thirdly, as the other travellers came off the boat we were handed their snorkeling mouthpieces and gear. When asked how do we sanitize them from the former travellers, the reply was, wash it well in the salt water. Take your chances!!

“Wonderful guide, great service, fun trip!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2011

At Scuba Shack, Jonathan took the time to see that our gear fit properly BEFORE we got on the boat. On other trips Iwe've been on, the guide just threw anything handy at us, sometimes they didn't even have the right size. He followed good safety procedures by helping us on board the boat, and when we got to the first snorkeling location, the visibility was so bad (heavy rain the 2 nights before) that he decided to take us farther up to a cove where the visibility was much better. I liked the fact that he took the initiative to find a better area to snorkel, when the ones Scuba Shack advertised were not good. We ended up having a great snorkel, and got to be out extra time because he had to search for a better area to snorkel in. (We also saw a turtle, and dolphins followed the boat for a little bit.)

“Absolutely the "Best Day" in Manzanillo.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2010

We booked a trip with the "Scuba Shack" on our second to our last day in Manzanillo. I wish we had found it on our first day. This is why.
When we first arrived at the "Scuba Shack" we were expertly fitted for our gear and driven out to the site. A beautiful beach with grass roofed restaurants seeming to spread out about a mile and a half. It was about 85 degrees with a gentle breeze giving a sense of perfection.
The details are beyond belief! The marine life was amazing! I am sure all of you reading this have seen fish before. But have you ever seen Giant Angelfish feeding? The sight of the frenzy looked like popcorn, popping! I will always remember that sight!
In total, it was about 5 different sights we snorkeled at, the last one, was a fraighter that went down in a hurricane in 1957, that you can snorkel around. Amazing!!!
That was easily the best snorkeling adventure I have ever had! But the experience was only half over.
After snorkeling, we sat down at one of the restaurants on the beach. We ate like Royalty!
I remember cheese stuffed, bacon wrapped shrimp, seviche, pez arranchada (Butterflied fish) that was enough for ten people! Not to mention more "Cuba Libres" than I can count!
But the coolest thing of that day, was a fish, that had beached itself. No one knew what it was. It was pre-historic looking. Later I found out it was an "Oarfish".
In summary, It was quite a day. I will not hesitate to return, or highly recommend.
