I had a great time at the Grand Bay Hotel. It's a hidden place....a place where you should go if you want to get away from it all. It's located on a tiny island with a small traditional village on the other side of the lake. The rooms were nice, the pool was fantastic! Very peaceful and quiet. All of the restaurants are expensive, but you can easily take the water taxi over to restaurants that have reasonable prices. The hotel is quite far from the beach, but at least you don't have a bunch of people trying to sell you knick-knacks every two minutes. To me, that really ruins my much needed rest & relaxation! The airport in Manzanillo is the most beautiful I have ever seen. (Not the building itself, but the runway). It runs right nex to the beautiful ocean. I would stay there again in a heatbeat!

We live in Mexico and regularly weekend at beach resort locations, found the Wyndham Isal Navidad to be warm, friendly, and quite good value. The evening meals and drinks are a bit expensive, but no more than most resorts in Mexico and it is made up for by the good service, room quality, nice pools, and general ambience. As higher end resorts go, the only negative is the isolation of the hotel as the little town (Barra de Navidad) across the bay is very small and lacks the tourist experiences. Played golf on the incredible hotel course, rated among the best in Mexico, green fees were a little high but we had the course virtually to ourselves. Would recommend strongly for a few days of papmering, lazing by the pool, and romance.

This is a beatiful hotel no dought. The grounds are beautiful. The rooms are clean. Although they are spacious the management said we could not have 4 people sleep in one room except for an extra fee of course. The staff lacked sincerity. We were greeted kindly but when we asked for things the desk would look down upon our request. No fruit bowl this time. I felt as if I was begging. Be careful when your bill comes. You are offered one price then charged extra (e.g. room service fee ?) After this i asked for prices but was looked down on. When the bill came the price was higher on almost everything even a simple ice crea at poolside. Would not book there again.

My husband and I went to Isla Navidad for a restful and romantic vacation. From the time we arrived the staff was friendly, helpful and understanding. The concierge was very knowledgeable about the area and suggested area activities to see the culture. Even though my husband spoke only English, the staff was mindful and made sure that he understood everything. The rooms were clean, spacious and the housekeeping staff was thorough. The food at the resort restaurants was great and the selection varied daily. Initially the hotel had few guests(<20) but as other guests (50+) arrived the staff still maintained a warm, hospitable atmosphere. Daily, we were greeted by friendly and eager staff whether at the pool, in the restaurants or in the gym. We stayed for 5 days and thought that by day 5 the staff's attitude would change but the same friendliness that greeted us continued throughout our visit. At checkout, we compared our bill to our receipts and surprisingly, it was accurate. In comparison to our other visits to resorts and hotels, this one was really a 5 star experience!! We truly enjoyed our visit and look forward to taking our kids with us next year!

I don't get what the others are saying. This was by far the worst vacation of my life. From the waiters and pool staff to the Managers, the worst. They are rude, have no manners. The hotel was practically empty when we went and they had promised upgrades, etc.. After getting there, nothing. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I have travelled a lot all over the world, and this was the worst experience ever. I WOULDN'T STAY THERE FOR FREE. P.S. Review your final tab carefully and always ask for a copy of everything when signing off as mysterious items showed up on mine, luckily I had the duplicates!
