“Great little cove and beach!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013

We stayed at the Tesoro and the beach was the best part. Just great. Snorkeling VERY good along the right side of the cove facing the ocean. Make sure you snorkel not only along the rocks but out toward the boats and look for the large rocks, lots of fish!! We saw lobsters, octopus, moray eel, spotted sea snakes, tons of rays and dozens of species of fish. Clear, warm water.

“Fogon Restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

Good service. Good food. Many Mexican dishes worth trying. On the main road and available. Loved the variety of dishes as well as the Mexican typical fare.

“Historic and nice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2012

It's the site where spanish conquistadors first reached land and now, full of tourists is still a site to enjoy, you can board a day cruise or catamaran or just relax.

“Nice sheltered bay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2012

Playa Audiencia is a nice sheltered bay with small waves. It is dominated by the Tesoro hotel and its beach. However, since all beaches in Mexico are accessible by the public, you can take your own umbrella and towels and park yourself anywhere on the beach. You'll find many Mexican families who come with their umbrellas, beach chairs, towels, beverages and snacks to spend the day. The cove has many fishing and tourist boats in it and I often find the smell of the gasoline and exhaust from the boats overwhelming. Try to find a spot away from where the boats are. The vendors have displays set up at the entrance to the beach and rarely bother you when you are sitting on the beach. There are a couple of beach side restaurants and public toilets. Snorkelling is good in this bay. Enter by the Club de Yachts. Typically the beach is very busy on weekends.

“Black eye of Manzanillo”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2012

I used to love this playa but the big hotel next door (Tesoro) has ruined this playa. It was too dirty during our visit, too much noise pollution from el Tesoro hotel and boats blasting loud music. Vendors tend to be a pushy and it takes several "no gracias" for them to leave you alone. Overall, I won't visit Playa Audiencia until someone orders Tesoro Hotel to help clean up the playa and control their noise pollution
