“Enchanting hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

Las Hadas was one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. It is a little old in places but makes up for in character. Some staff have worked there for 30 years. The view is spectacular from your room. The weather is almost guarenteed sunny. The food was good and the service was friendly. We loved the calm pretty beach, we could snorkel anytime or fish anytime. If your looking for night life this is not your place. Very quiet and relaxing. I loved that it wasn't your run of the mill resort. Can't wait to return.

Room Tip: We had the plunge pool room. definately worth the $$$$

5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

We arrived on the 30th of Jan and stayed until the 6th of Feb 2013. We knew what we were booking, old resort, no night life on site, quiet but satisfying and that is just what we received.
I recommend checking this and other recent reviews for updates about the resort. The resort seems to read and listen to what were write and make changes when necessary.
Great things, the beach, the beach food, (surprised us), the service staff, the constant cleaning and repairs to keep the resort perfect. The quick response to problems, the peacefulness of the stay. The theme night dinners. The abundance of western Canadians staying there. They‘re fantastic people. Serge, find him, well worth it.
Good Things, the small gym is always empty but clean, it seemed safe at night to walk through the resort, the food in the most part at the only two restaurants and the buffett. The front desk workers and room service.
Bad Things, The resort goes to sleep by 10pm, about 20% occupancy, the trip to see the volcano.
Terrible Thing, the signing of the bill after eating or drinking. Being chased of hunted to sign the bill at an all inclusive club is annoying. Item will be on your bill that you did not order and I was tired of catching it and then being told, why do you care, it’s all inclusive for you anyway. A bill is a bill someone pays in the long run. There were no surprises when we checked out but I wonder who was given 3 free buffet dinners and all that booze on my tab when I paid 1400 a person to stay there in the first place.
We will go again, sooner if the signing ends.

Thank you very much for your great comments, we consider it useful to continue improving.
Regarding the signature of the bill for each bar or restaurant, is because we have other hosting packages that include food, or include only breakfast, so our control is important to know what are the actual consumption of each package.
Either way, we are looking for ways to implement a different control to save them inconvenience to our guests who visit us in "all inclusive".
We look like your next visit. Thank you again.

What an amazing hotel! beautiful rooms. great views and amazing grounds. I have no complaints about this hotel except for thir a la carte restaurant which was not so great. But all the other restaurants were amazing. the beach is wonderful. You can feed the puffer fish right off the beach. Also from the delphines restaurant at night. just toss some bread in the water and you can watch many different kinds of bright, colorful fish. I beach bar is wonderful. burgers and ceasar salad were delicious. Lots of drink selections. Loved never having to move to get a drink. Very relaxing resort. Will be back again!! Oh, and the golf course is incredible!!

Room Tip: Room 1516 was awesome, great view.

This was our second year to Las Hadas and cannot wait to make it 3 years. The people are friendly, food is delicious especially at beach front restuarant Le Delfins. We had a room in the Brisas section with a plunge pool and beach view. What else could one ask for.The room was clean and comfortable. If you are looking for night time entertainment and party life this is not the place for you. Atomosphere is very quiet and laid back. We enjoyed the golf and our caddie Steve, he was knowledgable, professional and a real pleasure to spend 4 hours with. Remember you are in Mexico, life is laid back and different from Canada's rat race. Sit back and enjoy the hotels beautiful architecture it is absolutley breath taking.

Room Tip: If you have trouble climbing stairs ask for room on lower levels. The staff are happy to drive you t...

We travelled to Las Hadas Jan 1-8 and quite enjoyed the majority of the resort. Absolutely gorgeous scenery and a stunning ocean/mountain view off our balcony. Yes, there were a lot of stairs but who cares - helped us work off the food and drink. The stairs and the cobblestones just added to the atmosphere and were a nice joking point with people as we passed. Breakfast and lunch were always delicious, and suppers for the most part were good - avoid Legazpi, the food was NOT good and tons of shells in the crab appetizer and the steaks were mooing. Service for food and drinks was often slow, but again we were on vacation and were in no hurry!

We loved the location, close access to other beachs and very cheap to take a cab to various places. The hotel was clean, the beds were comfy, the staff was friendly and the food/drinks were decent. The place was beautiful and we had a great trip for a great price.

Room Tip: The highest rooms have the most stairs to get to but have a to-die for view. Would stay in the same...

We stayed at Las Hadas from January 4th until January 11th. Unfortunately we had to cut our holiday short due to problems at home on Vancouver Island. We were supposed to stay until January 18th.The staff, as usual, were wonderful and after looking at a couple of rooms when we arrived, we decided on 1101. This was the best room we have ever had at las Hadas. Great view, top floor, close to everything. We had booked the las Brisas/no golf package with Westjet through our travel agent, Kristy, at Marlin Travel in Duncan. When we had to leave in such a hurry, Kristy and her staff had us booked on a flight home in less than an hour. Thank you so much Kristy !

When we came here in the 90's for the first time, we were amazed at the food, the theme nights and the ambiance. It was wonderful and we kept coming back year after year.

As I said, the staff are wonderful, They go out of their way to please. We have never been treated rudely nor have we ever received bad service. But this time one thing stood out like never before. Staff morale seemed very low. Some staff seemed to be moving from job to job, never in one place for more than a few days.

The food at Delphines was not up to its usual quality. Some dinners did not arrive as ordered and a couple of times, had to be re-cooked. We went to the Marina Grill beside las Hadas one night and loved the food. The a la carte menu at Delphines was smaller than normal, the shrimp cocktail not up to snuff. A lot of improvement needed here and it's not the staff, it's the limited choices available. No shrimp dinners? The breakfast area was fantastic as usual, exceptional service of course and the best omelettes on the west coast.

The grounds are impeccable. The pool activities with Caruso are lots of fun and the music's not too loud. The pool service is great but what happened to the fish skewers and shrimp cocktails? Not on the menu anymore?

The tile at the pool needs some help and the pump for the waterfalls is not working for the third year in a row. The waterfalls added such ambiance. Loose tiles under foot can be dangerous.

Please don't get me wrong. I am not complaining about service, cleanliness, communication or location. I am dissappointed that such a wonderful, magical place is slipping away and it wouldn't take much to bring it back to it's former self. But that task is solely in the hands of the owners and management. To the wonderful staff, muchas gracias, sorry we had to leave so soon but we hope to see you again.

Room Tip: Remember to tip well (they deserve it) and try the 9th, 10th and 11th levels for superb rooms if you...

My wife and I booked an all inclusive holiday through Transat Holidays and stayed at the Las Hadas Golf Resort in Manzanillo Mexico from January 4-11, 2013 .

We arrived at the resort after dark and upon check-in asked for an ocean front room. We were advised that there were none available as they were all taken. The lady at the check in counter pointed to the board above her head and advised us that they had 10 other different packages available for us to purchase to upgrade the all inclusive package that we had already paid for.

The porter then brought our luggage to our room on the 16th floor. As he was leaving, we asked for directions to the restaurant for our evening meal. In very limited English he pointed in the dark to the direction that it was in. We found it very difficult to manage the stairs at that time of day as the stairways were very dimly lit. We found many other people wandering around looking for the same restaurant. It would be well advised to bring a flashlight and good walking shoes as there were 102 stairs from the street level to the elevator that took us up to our room.

We arrived at the restaurant and were greeted by very pleasant staff who pointed out the buffet to us. The next day we spoke to other hotel guests who informed us that they had ordered from a menu at the very same restaurant on the same evening. They informed us that not all the items on the menu were included in the "all inclusive package". Examples of this was the seafood platter for two and certain drinks like Grand Marnier - these items were however available for purchase.

We had a bar fridge in our room which had items also excluded from the all inclusive package for example hard liquor and snacks. They did provide pop, water and Corona beer free of charge. Oddly enough we could not order Corona beer without extra charge on the beach or in a restaurant as they pointed out that it was not included in our "all inclusive package".

The resort had many beautiful pools with bars where guests could could order drinks, snacks and lunch etc. We were advised at the El Terral pool bar that they were not able to serve us as we did not have the right color of wrist band as it was exclusive to the guests who had paid for upgraded rooms. At other pool bars we were told we could not order certain cocktails such as the Coco-Loco.

As a rule the staff were very friendly and polite and tried hard to please their guests. This time of year is apparently considered a low season for guests as the resort was roughly 20-30% occupied. For this reason we believe the food was limited and not always fresh as my wife was quite ill after having an evening meal at the Legazpi which was the only A La Carte Restaurant that was open during our stay.

The staff on the beach were always very helpful and attentive. We had great weather and the beach was very beautiful, private and quiet. We did miss seeing the beautiful nightly sunsets however as this has always been a highlight of our previous vacation experiences at other resorts.

The reason we decided to write this review is we thought it is important for people to know that not all "all inclusive resorts" mean everything is included. Most people budget carefully for their holiday and do not expect so many hidden costs attached to everything. If we had known of this up front we could have at least made a more informed decision on which resort to stay at.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience that we cause you.
Let me explain you that Las Hadas is not a hotel under the institutional concept of "All Inclusive", today we continue being a hotel room only, and just one of our products is named "Brisas Plan" or "Plan of Food and Beverages". That is the reason why in our restaurants you'll find products and dishes that are not considered included in this specific plan. Honestly we ask our sincere apologies if we cause you some displeasure or confusion.
