Please stay away from the Tesoro in Ixtapa. This resort will try to give you the wrong room. It will charge you for anything it can get. All-inclusive resorts should be all-inclusive, not try to charge for mini-bar service, room service or maid service if the description of the resort includes all these items. We arrived at the resort and were issued a room. We had booked a junior sw, they tried to give us a regular room with two queen beds. We had to fight to get our proper room. The resorts pool is the worst pool I have seen at all-inclusive. Please dont book this dump!

I am back to work the first day after returning from Ixtapa. We were there from 3/19-3/27/06 and stayed at the Tesoro. The staff is very friendly. Our room was very clean and every morning, the cleaning lady had a surprise with the towels for us. We did leave her a daily tip. The waiters at the pool area and the lobby bar were very friendly and always willing to get you a drink or answer your questions. We did go to the breakfast buffet daily and the fresh fruit was great. We did eat out several times but that was because we had never been to Ixtapa and were told to try Beccafino's at the marina which was pricy but worth it. We also ate at the restaurant El Faro, lots of people hipe it up, I thought it was ok, food was good but the staff was a little stuffy. My husband and I took this trip alone (my Christmas gift) and we had a wonderful time. At the airport we both said we wished we could stay a few days longer. We also would like to return to Ixtapa with friends. The beaches are clean and it is a very safe area. The only thing the Tesoro needs to do is better explain the all inclusive and let you know where things are in the hotel. We had a sheet in our room but since this was our first time doing all inclusive we found most of our info from other vacationers. We would return to the Tesoro and definitely return to Ixtapa. Enjoy-can't understand how people can be negative about the area-it is so beautiful and we found most of the people very friendly.

Hi!! We just came back from our stay March16-23 2006. We had an absolutely fab time. We went with a 6 mth old and a 21/2 year old and could not say better about this hotel. We arrived in the afternoon greeted by two lovely girls named Allison and Lauralie who where Canadian gals dressed in Mexican dress costumes. We had instant check in with a lovely Pina colada drink apon arrival and a very friendly welcome. We were checked into our room immediately. We had an Ocean view room which was beautiful. The service was amazing. They couldn't do enough for us. Room service was once per day and wad quick and hot!! A nice variety of food. The Foood!!! Was amazing . Breakfast was such a big variety. We recommend the make to order omlettes and quesadillas yum. I recommend this resort to anyone. Especially travelling with young chn ps. Give tips beacause they desevere it they do not expect it!!! Zihua and ixtapa are great for shopping esp at the nearby market but be of course be careful as you would at home. Beaches were great..ocean rough for swimming and nice palapas for relaxing under. Overall Awesome Vac!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe all the bad reviews I'm seeing. I went to the Tesoro with my wife and another couple. When we arrived at the Tesoro we were givin a room right away. A staff member took our bags to our rooms immediately. We had a beautiful view of the ocean on the 3rd floor. The rooms didn't have a clock in them or a remote for the T.V., but overall it was a nice room. The buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner were pretty good. The grill outside was outstanding. There is a 24 hour food and alcohol room for all inclusive members. The pool is great. The have acitivities like water volleyball, water polo, and aerobics. The pool bar is great. The staff is very friendly. If you tip well they will treat you like royalty. The resort is within walking distance of just about everything. If not cabs are $5.00 no matter the distance. This was my first trip to Mexico, and I would have no problems going back to Ixtapa or to the Tesoro. My wife and the couple we were with also agreed.
