“A fabulous time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2012

Me and my brother stayed at Agua Azul last December and had a fabulous time. The hosts prepared a delicious breakfast (homemade banana muffins, fresh fruits), they gave us tons of great recommendations for the best restaurants and the best beaches. Luckily we had a car, which made the ride to town easy. The rooms are very lovely, the bathroom in good state and incredibly clean.

Thank you to Rick and Brooke for a wonderfully relaxing stay in their lovely hideaway. As mentioned in previous reviews, highlights included lively conversations, the playful antics of their dog Tango, beautiful views and gardens, and a well stocked library. Breakfasts of fresh fruit, home-baked goods and yogourt with granola were very good but somewhat light and monotonous. Unfortunately during our stay, there was no access to the nearby beach and hot water never made it to our shower, but these were only minor irritants. Taxi service to and from beaches, restaurants and the airport was reliable, prompt, and inexpensive.

We enjoyed our stay at Aqua Azul very much. The room was comfortable with a beautiful ocean view, the garden lovely, breakfast pleasant. Everything was clean and well kept. Brooke and Rick are kind and helpful and welcomed us as though we were old friends. Through conversations with them and other guests, we learned much about life in Mexico and about the region in particular. We highly recommend a relaxed beach vacation at Aqua Azul, and loved birdwatching, snorkeling and swimming.

We stayed at Agua Azul for 5 nights, traveled to Puert Escondito & decided to return to Agua Azul for our last few nights in Mexico. A beautiful location, very quiet & clean. The hosts were very helpful about telling us what to see in the area. Very pleasant light breakfasts. We loved the pool. Our only regret was that the beach was not closer.

Room Tip: OUr favorite room was the Marlin.

Brooke and Rick have truly built a warm, inviting home that allowed my wife and I to let go and relax. Their home, while a bit off the beaten path, has a tremendous view, well-kept gardens, comfortable rooms, very clean bathrooms, light but healthy breakfasts, and an inclusive atmosphere. The highlights for us were sipping wine on our private balcony and watching the stars, bantering with other guests over lazy breakfasts, playing with their wonderful dog Tango, enjoying the peace, quite and privacy of the house, and taking long walks to nearby beaches. Overall the trip was wonderful, B & R were gracious hosts, and we will certainly return for subsequent visits. The only downsides of our stay were that the wireless connection did not work (Telmex's fault) and there was no DVD player on which to view the occasional film.

Our stay with Brooke and Rick at Agua Azul was wonderful and peaceful. They are very accommodating and gracious hosts. Fresh fruit and fresh baked goods were yummy and healthy by our standards. We had great conversations with them and other guests which led to enlightening information about the area and Mexican life. Everything was upscale and it showed that Brooke and Rick put their heart and soul into making the experience wonderful for their guests.

My husband and I recently stayed at Agua Azul for 2 nights while visiting Huatulco. We have nothing but positive comments to make about our short, but enjoyable visit. Brooke and Rick were friendly and hospitable. Their home was relaxing and upscale with clean, private rooms, lovely gardens and views to the ocean. We especially enjoyed watching the sun rise each morning. We have and will recommend this bed and breakfast to our family and friends.
