“2ND ACAPULCO VACATION”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

This was our second visit to WIVC Mar Azul Acapulco and, although I believed that nothing could top our first stay, I was wrong. Both Eliud and Aurelio made my wife and I feel as though we were returning home to family rather than vacationing at a timeshare. If there were such a contest as “Best Desk Clerk of the Century” Eliud and Aurelio would get my vote and I suspect anyone else who has every stayed at WIVC Mar Azul must feel the same. We were fortunate enough this trip to have three wonderful weeks at WIVC Mar Azul and believe me, we were as sad to leave after the three weeks as we were after our first visit. The weather was very cooperative, average temperature of 88 degrees each day and not one single drop of rain during our entire visit. The unit we stayed in this time had updated furniture and a brand new gas stove in the kitchen, not that we spent a great deal of time cooking with all the wonderful places nearby for food and drink . We are again looking forward to a return visit very soon

spent a week here over easter 2013.the property is in a great location right on the beach and in the centre of acapulco. All the staff here are fantastic and treat you as if you are vip`s.we had penthouse 1 and a 1 bedroom on the 9th floor, the views of acapulco were fantastic.both apartments were spacious, well maintained and the kichen equipment had everything you could need.we loved every minute of our stay here and although acapulco has had some bad press recently the resort felt very secure. In fact we felt perfectly safe both on the property and in the surrounding areas. We ate at a lot of the local restaurants and particuarly liked lala`s and Bambu.we hopped on and off local buses for 6 pesos per person anywhere up and down the costera.Acapulco is a wonderful city with friendly, lovely people who despite our limited spanish went the extra mile to help.Once again i cannot speak more highly of this resort,Eluid on the front desk even arranged for our laundry to be done for a very reasonable resort, the pool and sundeck although small were absolutely spotless and the cocktails at the bar were wonderful

My husband and I stayed at this hotel, timeshare rental, for 2 weeks.
The rooms are very nice and the resort itself is small, about 100 rooms, but in the perfect location.
The owners at this resort are very welcoming and frieindly. Many have been comming for 30 years.
Restruants and shopping and many activities in the hotel zone are just a short walk.
The staff is wonderful and we arranged for a local taxi tour operator to take us on some wonderful tours that ended in old acapulco shopping.
Perfect.
The weather is perfect and the water is beautiful and perfect to swim.
Overall Acapulaco is at the top of our favorite places in Mexico.
The Mar Azul is a diamond of a property.
We enjoyed!!!!

Room Tip: ASk for a room with a balacony. We stayed in the back and we were not unhappy, but the view would b...

Mar Azul is an amazing time share. It is located right in the middle of the bay in Acapulco right on the beach. It is right in the mix of things, not too commercialized though and that is nice. The weather is always sunny, hot with a nice breeze off of the water. The condos are always clean and comfortable.

The staff is the friendliest I have ever encountered while traveling. The same staff has been there forever and that says a lot about a place if they do not have a high turnover rate. Arillio is one of the best staff members. He always is very accommodating and willing to help anyway he can. If we have any questions he is right there. If we wanted a pizza ordered he would call to place the order since we do not speak Spanish. If we need an excursion booked he is there as well to help and guide us in the right direction. When we travel down there and the first time we see his face it is like seeing a family member that we have missed, so welcoming. We went on a fishing trip and caught a Mahi Mahi, he cooked it up for us on the grill there by the pool at the condo for dinner for us.

We wanted a TV to watch our Ravens play a pivotal playoff game down by the pool and Rosie made sure our request was granted. Elliott and Gustavo were just as accommodating and they all helped with our luggage. The cleaning staff is phenomenal, these ladies clean every inch of the condo and they do the dishes! I would be here forever talking about how awesome they are. I cannot express how great it is at the Mar Azul.

For transportation we used Roberto Alarcon; he was extremely helpful in every way possible. I booked him from the recommendations on this website for our transportation needs. I sent him an email and he responded within no time at all giving me all the information I had asked for and more. My family and I have been traveling to Acapulco for vacation for the past 30 years. We have never had service like Roberto's. He exceeded every expectation we had. He spoke great English and gave us insight on where to go for food, shopping, activities and the culture of Acapulco. He was very reasonable in price and took great care of us.

The plane dropped us off in Acapulco and there he was ready to pick us up, and immediately welcomed us Mexican style! He picked up our 10 person group in a very comfortable, air conditioned van and helped with our luggage. On our way down to our condo where we were staying he gave us a book full of pictures for excursions that he could book for us. We decided to take him up on the deep sea fishing. Wow, this boat was awesome, the crew was great and he even had coolers for our drinks and lunch that we packed for the day. He definitely took care of us!

By the end of our week in Acapulco he became like family and on our next trip we will definitely use his services again. Hopefully next time he will take time to have dinner with us!

I know there is apprehension with many people about traveling to Mexico right now due to the media and what they have been reporting. I want everyone to know, this time was the safest my family and I have felt down there. Acapulco has come a long way; we even had the policia (police) stop the traffic on the main street in Acapulco (basically a 4 lane highway) for us to cross safely. This has NEVER happened before! Acapulco is just like any large city in the US. You use common sense! If you have any questions Roberto can tell you where not to go as well, because just like anywhere there are "bad" places, but it is not where the tourist should go anyways, it is off the beaten path.

The WIVC at Mar Azul Acapulco is without a doubt the most enjoyable timeshare we have ever had the pleasure of visiting. The front desk is manned by Eliud and Aurelio, both of whom are warm and understanding individuals who go out of their way to assist you in everyway. Rosa Maria (Rosy) provides valuable and useful information each Sunday to the new arrivals. Our two week stay was not enough and we are already planning our next visit, hopefully for a longer period of time.

Room Tip: Rooms in the front of the Unit provide the best view of the beach and bay

We spent two weeks here, ALL the staff were amazing and we found it to be the best location in late fall , early winter for the entire Acapulco Bay area. Great sun until 6 every day and some wonderful restaurants close by. Go to main street and go right. About 3 blocks down on the right hand side is a great homemade Gelato shop. At the resort when he is in, Danny makes a mean ChiChi....

We were hesistant to use Mar Azul because it didnt have the amenities of a large resort but we were pleasantly surprised by how great everything was. Aurielo was extremely helpful for helping us pick places to eat with our six month old baby. If you are looking for a really good tour guide, use Oscar from Margo tourist services (100 6335 ID 62*15*53705).
