“Diego Rivera, a truly unique artist.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2012

This mural, outside of his house, is totally worth a stop or a very slow driveby. The man was an mural icon and this mural is no exception. Supposedly a Rivera sibling still lives there ! I did not stop to confirm ! SkippyFrizz

“Mural Diego Rivera”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2012

I really liked the mural, however, you're not traveling through the best part of town to see it. I don't recommend trying to find it yourself, but our tour guide Roberto Alarcon took us directly there.

“A diamond in the rough, truly!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2012

This was one of Diego Rivera's last pieces and in my opinion, the most beautiful. There is a heart jerking Romeo and Juliet story behind this mural and it sits in the back roads of Acapulco, off the beaten path. A turly hidden gem!

“Wonderful Diego Rivera artwork- tucked away but well worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2012

This mural, executed in sea-shells and coloured stones, was the last mural completed before his death by Diego Rivera in 1956-1957. The 107' long mural that tourists can see (there are three other murals inside the estate behind the walls that are, sadly, not open to the public) is on the outer perimeter wall facing the street in a narrow street high up above the rest of Acapulco. The house belonged to the last of Rivera's patrons, the Mexican business woman, Dolores Olmedo who died in 2002. The house has been on sale for several years and if you have a spare million or two you can buy it; no problems at all. The house, called Exekatlkalli or 'House of the Winds', is in Inalambrica Street in the oldest section of the city, Acapulco Tradicional. After admiring the three dimensional mural its well worth wondering around the streets of this steep hillside area to look at some of the oldest surviving hotels built in the late 1940s and early 1950s, most of which are no longer in service, sadly.

Great work of art of a suburban back street, we visited as part of a private city tour with Sebastian from acapulcoforall.com. Got heaps of great background information on the mural from this guide
