“Awesome Hotel - Me Encanta El Encanto”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2014

Note - there is NO Beach, NO beach access, and NO beach club. Other than that, this is a really cool hotel. Spectacular views from the room, as well as pool and restaurant areas.

Despite problems with my initial reservation through Expedia, we had a great stay. Expedia informed me that the Ocean Villa I had reserved was no longer available, even though my credit card had been charged in full. Repeated attempts to contact the hotel went unanswered. My last attempt was contacting the architect, Miguel Angel Aragones, and Star Diamond Award group, at which point I finally received a response, confirming that everything was fine with my reservation. I proceeded to make special arrangements for a special birthday surprise (champagne, flowers, balloons, bday cake, etc.) which were all perfectly executed by the hotel concierge. Thank you!

The Ocean Villa Encanto is amazing, awesome architecture, incredible private pool, huge private wrap around patio with amazing views. There was no shade and very strong sun, and getting the hotel to bring an umbrella took some coaxing, but they finally agreed. All of the food was excellent, particularly the different ceviches, fresh fish, pastor tacos, etc. The menu is somewhat limited, but everything is exceptional. Well done Monica Patiño!

This is truly a one of a kind hotel, with the modern architecture, design, and awesome night time lighting. The coolest swimming pool anywhere, beautifully displayed art and their own unique gallery. Our room also was very unique with the views, floor to ceiling windows/sliding doors, automatic black out shades, and very cool lighting inside the room, patio, and pool. Turn down service was very nice, with different unique treats in place of the standard chocolates. Bathroom was awesome, luxurious linens, although the mattress was thin and very uncomfortable.

Service was friendly and attentive, but not very refined or professional. Staff in general could use some extra training, no one seemed really knowledgeable about the menu or overall facilities. We asked three different people about the Beach Club that was described on the website, and received three different responses, ranging from they didn't know there was a beach club, or that it was currently closed for maintenance, or that the hotel didn't pay their fee. Oh well, we enjoyed our private pool immensely. The waiters we talked with didn't seem very familiar with the menu, unable to talk about food ingredients, preparations, recommendations, etc. Also, there was always some confusion during lunch to dinner transition, regarding where they had service, from which menu, who was on duty, etc. but again, the outstanding food mostly made up for this.

Everything is pricey, but well worth a special romantic getaway. I highly recommend the Hotel Encanto.

Room Tip: Ocean Villa Encanto is worth the splurge

We were invited to a wedding in Acapulco. However, knowing Acapulco well, I thought that the two suggested hotels were no longer up to snuff, so I started searching Trip Advisor and after reading the reviews, checking the location (at the newest area inAcapulco) and reviewing the pictures, I decided on El Encanto. What a great choice it turned out to be! I even got a "you chose so well!" comment from my wife, and more than once, too.
-Great design and architecture, new and contemporary but warm at the same time. Great detail and decoration complemented by the use of tastefully changing lighting both inside and outside.
-Terrific pool area with great, spacious and luxurious lounge and resting areas, an in-pool bar, tasty snacks and drinks and very attentive service
-Fantastic views of the bay both during the day and at night
-Our room was superb. Window walls with a remote control to open/close the treatments. A large balcony, overlooking the same pool views but from a higher point. Go for a corner suite. The price differential is not big and it's totally worth it, boasting close to a 180 degree view
-We took friends for a late breakfast one morning and they were hugely impressed, vowing to return to the hotel themselves
Really loved our stay.

Having said that, one key area of opportunity: the terrific looking jacuzzi in the pool area has great power streams.......but the water needs to be warmer! Thank you!

What an incredibly beautiful hotel Encanto is ! The architect Miguel Angel Aragonés made such an interesting , minimalist but at the same time cozy hotel . The minute I arrived I said to myself I'm not leaving till I absolutely have to . I was so fascinated by the building that I had to go all over and take photos first thing . The rooms are beautifully designed , all white but with accents of changing colors ! Fantastic ! The bed was fabulous , comfy as can be . The huge shower head and second hand held shower is a great idea . Beautiful details too like a choice of scented oils for perfuming the room at night , loved that item !
The pool area is so wonderful with large beds to lounge on . Details like magazines and sunscreen are provided too . The restaurant is very open and serves very fine food . A dream hotel for us in every way and the sweetest staff you can imagine . Hopefully I will be able to return one day !

If you will ever come to Acapulco stay at the hotel Encanto. It is magic with its architecture and colors, massive rooms and perfect service.
You will not regret your stay. Ask for the corner units on the second floor since they have corner glass windows with amazing views of the city of the open ocean. If you prefer a more peaceful and reserved experience then the villas are perfect for you.

I decided to look for the number 1 hotel in Acapulco after a long week working in the US. I had heard from Encanto but wasn't really sure what to expect.

Upon arrival at the Hotel you're welcomed by large spaces, natural light, and air coming from the Acapulco coast. Staff is welcoming, checking in was fast, and the room was impeccable.

The view is unparallelled, and every detail was taken care of.

There was a birthday party at the hotel, and I was amazed when the service came to the room to show me how to close the windows and deliver ear plugs in case the noise was too loud.

Can't complain about any of the meals, all of them were perfect. Pool amazing, and same goes for the gym, valet parking, internet access, everything I asked was done.

The bar at the pool needs a bit more staff when the occupancy is high, times were slow due to the group hosted at the hotel.

I'd definitely return for more soon.

Room Tip: rooms ending with 08 have the best view.

Love this hotel, fabulous views, hip, modern and sexy. They have great Buddha Bar type music, candles, flowing white cotton curtains and very private. Its not on the sand but they have little cars to take you up and down in 5 minutes. I just LOVE this hotel.
