there is really no way to make a long story short when it comes to our stay at this hotel. we were under the impression that this would not only be a wondeful trip but an amazing honeymoon. we were very wrong. like most people we heard the name ritz and thought "this has to be a great place". again we were wrong. we had seen some pictures and read some reviews before we left but nothing could of prepared us for what was waiting. the only place you can get a.c. is in your room and it's not that great. they offer 3 bars but what they dont tell you is that the only one that is inside is in their "upscale" restaurant which is only open 3 days a week for 3 hours. the pictures you see of the food is not at all what you get. it all looked like slop that would be served in a prison. the beach is dirty and so are the rooms. the bathrooms are terrible. the water pressure coming out of the shower head is like a fire hose. the bed may as well of been a peice of plywood with a sheet over it. the service is good but only if you keep tipping them which bothered us since the gratuities are included anyway. we were served hamburgers that were a greenish grey color and had a very suspicious taste. the only beer you can get there is corona poured from a jug into an 8 oz room temperature plastic cup. no fun glasses, no tropical umbrellas, and the bartenders speak english okay but they certainly dont understand it very well. something as simple as a baybreeze could not be served because they dont offer something as simple as cranberry juice. i know this may seem like nit-picking but believe me when i tell you that it's not. when you add all these things together it's miserable. so miserable in fact that we were supposed to be there 8 days and we were there for literally 3 hours before we bought new plane tickets home and left promptly! thats all the time it takes to see that this hotel does not live up to it's ritz name at all. and dont dare take a cab ride that the hotel doesnt provide for you. we were nearly killed on our way to the hotel from the airport. the hotel will exchange your dollars into pesos but there is a $10.50 charge every time you do it. so your better off exchanging 100.00 at a time rather that 40 or 50. but they dont tell you that either. all in all... very shady place, not a good bang for your buck, not romantic, not what you would expect from an "all inclusive resort" at all !!!

Our room had an excellant ocean view, and was attached to our kids room (they had a street and ocean view) which was fun. Our air didn't work very well..but the staff came up to fix it right away! (Still didn't work as well as the air in the kids room!) The room was CLEAN ...but the beds were so ROCK HARD that we all had trouble sleeping in them for a week. The food was good, not excellant...but GOOD! The entertainment left much to be desired, but you have a choice to go or not to go! The pool staff was a lot of fun although no one here in this hotel can speak English very well. The drinks were great, the bartenders actually made drinks that we requested each night with no problem! The pool was a little too warm for our taste..it wasn't refreshing at all. But it was very hot the week we were there, so there wasn't much that was refreshing when the temperture reached 100 degrees every day! The hotel is right on the main street and you could walk around but all of the attractions were too far away, we had to take cabs to them! Cabs are cheap, just make sure that you know the fare before you get into the cab and it's fine! I would stay there again it was worth the price!! I have been to Mexico many times, and this hotel is CLEAN!

Okay...well The first off dont let the name the "Ritz Acapolco" fool you and think its like the Ritz Carelton because I guarrantee you it isn't, the Ritz was porbably the worst hotel I have ever been to in my entire life. First, no one speaks english in this hotel. There is the biggest language barrier you ever imagine with about 90% of the staff. If your'e not fluent in Spanish you will have a big probelm here. Also, the alcohol all tasted like crap and they always gave us there little cups for the drinks, when really you wanted a huge drink. The food was discusting. This food isnt good enough for a dog. All the food in mexican and it all tasted like crap. The food that did taste good made me sick the morning after. Oh and don't even get me started with the bedrooms, if you wanted to sleep on a soft bed you might as well sleep on a bunch of your clothes on the floor because i swear to you that would be more comfortable then these death matresses. The beds shouldnt be called beds because they are as hard a brick. The elevators will take 500000389248 hours to get to your floor so you might as well walk the stairs. The Televisions don't work and you have to call someone 292300320 times to get them to come up because no one understands english. The toilets clog for no reasons at all and it takes so long for someone to come up and fix it. Basically everything [--]. The only good this about this hotel is when I'm out of the hotel- going to clubs, touring the city, or tanning on the beach. I highly don't reccomend this hotel for your stay at Ritz Acapolco in Acapolco, Mexico
