The building is incredible, a very beautiful place. The rooms are nice and clean. I have recently been there twice and the staff is very nice, truly helpful. Pools are incredible for kids, my daughter specially loved one with salt water and a slide. The beach is nice, although the sea is rough. Beautiful gardens and food is fine. At the spa, the staff is helpful and skilled, I loved my hair-do and they did my nails really great.
Be careful when you book, Despegar does not have extra charges, but Booking adds an extra amount for taxes when you get to the hotel, it is more expensive in the end.
The hotel is a nice place, although the front looks like a true pyramid -it is so unkempt and in need of repair-.
The strange part are all the conditionals at the hotel... if...
If you have to work, consider they do not offer WiFi unless you are in their special club (paid), so you have to use your own internet.
If you accidentally spill your coffee, as I did, the maid was terrible and she didn´t even clean a sink or change towels and robe, the next maid was truly nice.
If... you go to the beach... once they charged us for the beach shades and once they didn't, which is strange to say the least.
If... you want to go for a midnight walk on the beach, but the door is closed... we couldn't even though a small dinner party was being held right on the beach. We were told access was banned for safety reasons, but that if we payed and prepared in advance, next time we could have a bachelor party like the others were having.
If... you have a car, they charge $150 pesos per night; it includes a very hospitable and helpful valet parking... if... you are in no hurry, since it takes them about 20 minutes or more to get your car. If you are in a hurry, I suggest you park outside (on the places where it is allowed).
All in all, a good family or couple experience... if...

Room Tip: Get a room with ocean view, but bear in mind they charge extra for the pleasure. The rooms on the se...

I'd been inactive for a while in TripAdvisor. However, this place made me write again. It's supposed to be a 4 star hotel. However it is not nearly that. I was on the 18th floor, main building. They tell in their website that they have alarm clock for iPhone and things like that. But my room had an RCA 1998 TV. Air conditioning that does not cool more than 26 degrees... half painted balcony. Spots on the sheets. Just to mention a few. I was very disappointed. The main building needs a make up right now. Because they can't live of their past glories forever. Maybe I just got some bad luck. But this room was awful. I'm never ever returning to this place again.

If you are looking for a nice beach resort, the Fairmont Princess is the right place for you. Multiple pools, beach access and a quiet atmosphere. The staff is courteous and they''ll do everything to provide the right service for you.
Golf and tennis courts, spa, playground for kids are part of the amenities that you can get there.

If you really like a fast service try to avoid weekends and holidays. I was there during a big convention and the room service was extremely slow.

The only real problem for me was the tv screen. It doesn't fit 2014 standard.

There is a McDonalds and a Walmart 5 blocks away. You can buy some stuff to avoid high hotel prices.

If you're looking for a nice hotel in Acapulco, I would recommend this one for the following reasons: clean, spacious, multiple pools, access to beach, wifi (although this depends on the number of people using it), close to the airport and secluded. The negatives are: it's far from downtown (not that anything is going on lately downtown; restaurant (Tavola) is average; if you want a buffet, they have Chula Vista Restaurant; For safety, the entrance has guards 24/7; the staff is friendly and some can speak English better than others. So if you're just looking to go to Acapulco and spend most of your time laying out in the pool or the beach, this may be the place for you. It's family friendly with multiple pools; it gets crowded in the weekends. If you're looking for actions, this may not be the place for you, unless you want to travel downtown (20 minutes away depending on traffic) every night. They do have taxi service in the lobby for your convenience; They have Walmart and McDonalds nearby but I do not recommend walking there especially at night. I don't golf but they do have a course outside the hotel and tennis courts.

Room Tip: I would recommend staying in the Pearl Tower.

When I think of Fairmont a certain standard comes to mind - well the properties in Acapulco dont meet this standard.
Although the service is friendly and the food is fine the hotel is run down and out dated.
I definitely dont recommend it.
The beach isnt even very nice in this part of Acapulco - it is full of vendors.
Mexico offers much better locations and hotels than this one.

I was in annual GM Next convention 2,000 people, a lot of rooms... you can imagine... but as I have another job - posting in my blog ( http://www.multinivelconfuturo.com ) by night I needed wi-fi service but it wasn´t working fine.

I spend great time over there but you know I really wanted to get my post published overnight, so I will give them 4 out of 5

Dear Luis,
Thank you for taking the time to write us about your experience. Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconveniences you experienced with the Internet, some rooms especially the golf view rooms have a weak connection and we are already working to fix this. This is certainly not the Fairmont experience we aim to provide our guests and I am truly sorry this happened to you.
Best regards

This is a great hotel and we loved the grounds, the three pools and the beach front access. However, the open air concept was a bit much. As soon as you leave your room the heat and humidity slaps you in the face. Mind you, you are still INSIDE the hotel. We cooled off in the Chocolate Cafe who served coffee and had air conditioning. Our room's air conditioner did not go lower than 70 degrees and rattled during the day as it struggled to cool.

Now the good stuff. It was fun to see Macho the black swan and his mate as well as a couple of flamingos and a parrot on the grounds. Water fountains and swim up bars were also fun for couples relaxing poolside. The ocean water was just the right temperature and the waves were fun and exhilarating. Spectacular views and the locals offered lots of toys to play in and out of the water.

Room Tip: There are three buildings. The first two build when opened and then the Pearl was added later. The a...
