“amazing, beautiful,cozy-Acapulco at it´s best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

one of the amazing views we ever had in our life.......it was a long way to arrive in Acapulco, but worth every hour of travelling! we stayed in a casita with a pool to share and it really felt like home away from home......Breakfast was good, but mainly mexican...lunch at la concha ( their private beach club!) was nice as well and dinner at bellavista restaurant was really good.....their stuff is extremely nice , very helpful and friendly.....we had a blast be driven arround by the resort jeeps and we love the pink and white that runs all throughout the resort! La Concha is great for swimming in the salt water pool and you can also swim out to the ocean from there.......unfornately we came for business and did not spent a vacation there....this place is definitely a place to return!!! ( this was already our 3rd visit since nov. 2012)

* Housekeeping came on FOUR separate occasions on one day. 1) clean 2) bring towels 3) bring robes 4) collect coffee they brought earlier that we didn't order. Each time separated by 10-60 minutes.
* "Private" pool was dirty
* Expedia said breakfast was included. It was not, and it was 440 pesos for not very good food.
* Sometimes long waits for the little pink carts you have to rely on to get you to and from your room.
* They didn't have my reservation when I went to check in, and it took them 20 minutes to find it.
* They told me they had "promotions" for upgrading to a better room, but offered me their standard prices
* Kitchen sink was dirty
* When you move the chairs around on the concrete floor they make an awful scraping sound, and they're a bit too heavy to lift
* Gate on our room said "do not enter" when opened, and "please enter" when closed... isn't that counter-intuitive?
* Asked me to sign a blank credit card slip as a guarantee for expenses... a bit non-standard; they could write any number they wanted on that. I had to sign it under duress essentially, as I had already pre-paid for the hotel.

In fairness, it was a nice view, the bed was comfy, and the room service, unlike the not-actually-included breakfast, was tasty.

We have been traveling to Las Brisas for 40+ years and never get tired of the great views and wonderful staff. Eduardo the concierge bent over backwards to make sure our stay was perfect in every way. Jhonney in the dining room also took great care of us when we dined along with the other great staff. Hopefully we will be going back for many more years!!!

Room Tip: Highest casitas offer breathtaking views..

Our stay at Las Brisas was a delight, with attentive staff, a cliffside view of Acapulco Bay, our bed daily decorated with trails beautiful flower petals; a clean and beautiful property we would certainly return to. Having the private pool, use of a pink Jeep, and La Concha beach club privileges. were all added pluses. Our trip was prior to March 2012 but unable to date back any further.. This is a wonderful wonderful place to create magical memories.

My husband and I own a company that invests in stocks in over 45 countries worldwide, so it is our business to travel the world as we research companies in emerging and developed economies. As such we have been privileged to stay at some extraordinary hotels from the Ritz-Carlton in Dubai to the Oberoi hotels in India and the Peninsula in Hong Kong, to name a few.
My husband had stayed at Las Brisas in 1969, which inarguably was the heydey of the hotel. His recollection of the storied pink and white jeeps, the isolated and romantic casitas, and the nightlife at the Buena Vista restaurant, complete with dancing and 10 piece band, prompted him to come back.
Acapulco, much like the rest of Mexico, is benefitting from an economy that has grown roughly 4-5% over the past two years. The Mexican peso has risen versus the American dollar, and for the first time in decades, Mexicans are staying in their country to work in greater numbers. On our way from the airport to Las Brisas, we were welcomed by the familiar WalMart, Costco and Home Depot, as well as other iconic United States brands along the route. Surrounding Las Brisas are clusters of multi-million dollar homes, one more beautiful and elaborate than the next. Within a stone’s throw of the hotel are some of the city’s finest restaurants, offering international, Spanish, Mexican and Asian cuisine. In short, the area around the hotel is upscale and the drive was pleasant. We found the taxi drivers in the area most accommodating, and they will pick you up right at the hotel, take you to your destination, wait for you while you shop or dine, and bring you pack to the hotel, all for a set fee. It was very convenient and safe.
Upon our arrival to the Las Brisas property, we were welcomed with the signature pink margaritas and a well-organized arrival. Our jeep awaited and our driver, Demetrio, transported us to our casita.
The hotel itself underwent a massive renovation push in recent times and the grounds, infrastructure and casitas appear immaculately maintained and pristine. The hotel is well staffed, with each casita attended by not only a housekeeper, but also a groundskeeper, and a pool man. The common property was no different, and I was amazed how such an expansive property, with its massive amount of stonework, roads and walkways could be so immaculate, not to mention free of nearly any insects (our stay was in January). Not even a single cobweb amidst all those roofs and eaves! This is no accident of course; the management of Las Brisas is very attentive to these matters, and it shows.
Our casita (junior suite), number 446, was equally well maintained and the room quite pleasant and clean, with crisp, luxury sheets and pillows, a must in my view. The bathroom was outfitted with Gilchrest and Solmes toiletries and sunlit with a skylight. The outdoor pool and patio was spectacular, and only eclipsed by the magnificent view of Acapulco bay. Every morning, a thermos of coffee and pastries are delivered to your door via the “magic box”. I am not a pastry person, so I would order room service and enjoyed eating breakfast on our private patio overlooking the bay. Our housekeeper, Soledad, would tidy the room twice a day, and delight us with intricate “sculptures” made out of linen on our bed, amidst fresh hibiscus. One day it would be a heart, another two swans kissing in a heart shape. It was very dear, and a signature of the hotel.
For dinner, we enjoyed the privacy of our casita so much, that we ordered dinner to be served on our patio. While we enjoyed several of the restaurants nearby, with Becco being our favorite, there was nothing that really compared to the Las Brisas Bella Vista restaurant, perched high above and with a spectacular nighttime view. The service by our preferred waiter Giovanni was impeccable, and the food was first rate. On the weekends there is a pianist.
During the day, we would often take the shuttle down to the Las Brisas oceanfront club, La Concha. Here we could enjoy a late lunch and cocktails, and there often is a trio playing music. But we found that one of our favorite things to do while at Las Brisas was visit the Sunset Bar, hosted by one of the La Brisas regulars, Leonardo. Its open only between 5:30pm and 8pm, and everyone gathers for cocktails, a little soft music and great conversation overlooking Acapulco bay to view a glorious fireball sunset.
On one of these evenings, we were delighted to meet the General Manager of Las Brisas, Senor Jaime Jaramillo, who introduced himself. He spent quite a bit of time with us, and his help and suggestions on how to best take advantage of all the property has to offer were most helpful. The next day, a handpainted sign arrived at our door, “Casa White”. And here is what sets Las Brisas apart from all of the cookie-cutter luxury resorts that you might encounter- that personal touch. In short, our stay at Las Brisas was picture perfect, and if you want a place to relax away from the crowds with your loved one, look no further.

Room Tip: If you can, I would contact the hotel personally, rather than go through a third-party. It is prefe...

Built on the cliffs overlooking the bay in Acapulco, this hotel is perfection! The staff will bend over backwards to make your stay just right. Most rooms have their own swimming pool and the views are stunning! We ordered up room service our first night here, ate out on our deck as the sun set. The food was some of the best I've ever had in room service. The bar is fully stocked in each room, the bedding and linens are the highest quality. Everything is pink and white here, even the jeeps that they use to transport you around the property. The roads are so narrow and steep they ask you not to walk the property, but to call for a ride whenever you need to go somewhere, and they are there in 2 minutes. Love it!!

Las brisas si a very old hotel. Well preserved but very Expensive for what you get.
First of all. They sell a "private" pool in each room. It is private because it's only for your room but if you're looking for real real privacy. This is not the place to go.
The pool in my room was dirty and stayed like that for the whole vacation.
The food is Expensive and the quality is not that good.
