We went to Linda Vista on Christmas Eve while staying a few days in Acapulco. It was far and away the worst part of our visit. The only positive thing I can say is that at least no one got sick.
We arrived somewhat early, around 8:00, to a more or less empty restaurant. However, even with reservations, we still ended up sitting in the back of the restaurant. So much for the "linda vista."
Because it was Christmas Eve, the restaurant had a set menu. Let me see if I can remember the courses: Waldorf salad, some sort of soup, Turkey for the main course and what they referred to as a Black Forest cake for dessert. The savory dishes were all way over salted although that may have been a blessing since otherwise they would have had no flavor at all. The supposed Black Forest cake could have been a Duncan Hines mix and the only thing that even recalled a true Black Forest cake was the maraschino cherry stuck to the side of a couple of the pieces our table received.
The service wasn't the worst I've ever seen but was far from attentive. When trying to order coffee and trying to get the check, we waited nearly ten minutes each time simply trying to get a server to come by.
All of this wouldn't have been fatal but considering the cost, more than 50 USD per person, the food and service were unforgivable. Although I wouldn't say that Acapulco is a town with a great selection of restaurants from which to choose, I feel very safe in saying that Linda Vista definitely falls near the bottom of that list.
