“Poor thing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2012

What was once the most beautiful and hit place of Acapulco now serves barely a reminder of what it once was. Photos decorate this once great club with pictures of Frank Sinatra, John Wayne, and all the big celebrities of the 1950s/60s but today it is a cheap tourist attraction with terrible overpriced food and many days a terrible smell comes from the public toilets on the other side of the cliff and you can't even enjoy your overpriced food. Honestly, the government really needs to act on these things if they want their tourism to go back to what it once was. Sad. Really.

“God awful.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2012

My wife and I booked a tour from our hotel to this restaurant for dinner and the clff diving show. We were a little worried about security in old acapulco, so having a driver and being on private property seemed wise.

This place is just awful. Seriously, don't even think about eating here. I can't begin to explain how bad every course was or the wreched illness that follows eating anything here.

The distance to the cliff is far enough that the divers are hard to see, and I have pretty good eyesight, so this isn't reason enough to come here. There are better viewing areas nearby, and you won't be subjected to some of the worst food anywhere.

“Worth only for the view”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2011

The place is quite old but the view over "La Quebrada" is the best.

“Nice lunch while watching the cliff divers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2011

We enjoyed our lunch and drinks while seated under shade with front row seats to see the cliff divers. Sebastian Hernandez (eskp_rsh@hotmail.com) our driver pre-arranged everything for us. The waiters were awaiting us upon arrival. For 195 pesos each we received a meal with plenty of quantity, in a clean environment with very attentive service along with a drink of your choice. Hubby had enchiladas which were quite tasty and I had a fish dish ( both included the typical fare, rice, beans small salad etc.) . My fish was cooked great and also was tasty. Hubby had a nice cold beer and I had a margarita which was very good. We enjoyed our lunch here, with the show included as a nice hour or so of relaxation in Acapulco, with entertainment and food. When we were ready our trusty driver Sebastian Hernandez was in the Suburban, all chilled with A/C for us...Very nice few hours.....another first for us in Acacpulco!!!

“DON'T do it!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2011

We knew that La Pearla would be as touristy as they come but this place is a rip off. While the staff were lovely (although you got the feeling it was more for the tips than any genuine care) the food is some of the worst we have experienced during our stay. We spent 620 pesos on a really nasty meal (and two drinks) plus you pay 40 pp to sit in the restaurant. Not to take anything away from the divers who are quite amazing the whole experience is a cheesy waste of money
