We arrived just in time for sunset on a Thursday at the end of November, and everyone (group of 6) was blown away by Hacienda Cerritos. The courtyard was beautiful, and coming through it out onto the ocean view took our breath away. There was a feeling of "I can't believe we're staying here" the entire trip. We stopped by Wal-Mart on our way up, and spent just over $100 for all 6 of us over 4 days. We liked cooking and making our own drinks better than the all-inclusives, and the view never got old.
The drinks at the pool bar are expensive and slow, but made from scratch, so worth it. The beach below was perfect for any type of way you want to spend your time (swimming, surfing, relaxing, etc.) Massages were cheap, and you can watch american football at the bar. Arturo was also a great host given the amount of resources he has.
Granted, the water didn't work some of the time, we never had a hot shower, only one hot tub worked one night, and we got eaten alive by mosquitoes, it was completely worth it to stay at such a beautiful place.
If you can get the travelzoo/groupon deal, do it.
