The hotel is absolutely beautiful. Great pools and pool area and the beach was just down the stairs from the hotel. The service was great and friendly. Hotel is about 2 hours from the airport, which I thought was a drag until I saw the hotel and realized it was totally worth the drive. The only complaint was the flies and mosquitos, got eaten alive the first nignt until they sprayed for insects. I would bring insect repellent.

On the drive from the airport to the Hacienda, you may be asking yourself, "Where are these people taking me?", the answer is simple...PARADISE!!! As early reviews have mentioned, the roads are under construction so they can be a bit bumpy and slow going at times. It is approximately an hour and a half to two hour drive depending on your driver. Our driver, who was amazing, said construction is scheduled to be completed within the year. For me, one of the biggest draws to Cerritos beach is that it is so remote!! Driving through rural Mexico to get to this amazing place is part of the fun and really shows you the "real" side of Mexico. For me, that is one of the great things about traveling. And I would like to add that Baja is completely safe and was at no time during the trip concerned about safety.
I have been lucky enough to do a great deal of traveling all over the world and stayed in some amazing places. Hacienda Cerritos is one of the most spectacular locations I have ever stayed. Even the most incredible photos do not do it justice. It is absolutely breath taking. The house is incredibly well done and the decor leaves nothing to be desired. My boyfriend and I stayed in the Lower South Suite. It blew our minds!!! The leather work on the four post bed, bench and chairs is beautiful. There is an amazing brick fireplace that crawls up the wall to meet an even more amazing brick cathedral ceiling with iron chandelier. The bathroom is even more amazing!! The brick work continued into the bathroom where we found a double shower, incredible bathtub, jack and jill sinks and a huge walk in closet!. All of the doors throughout the hacienda are made out of beautifully carved dark wood and are probably 10+ feet tall. They are amazing!! We had two sliding glass doors that allowed us to basically remove two walls of our room and bring the outside inside. We did this often and it added that extra something. There is also a patio with an outside shower which we used to rinse off after trips down to the beach.
The communal areas both inside and outside are again beautiful and well appointed. There are double bed sized lounges surrounding the main pool as well on a few private patios around the property. We used these everyday for hours on end!! We stuck to the main pool and front two hot tubs placed perfectly to watch your choice of sunrise or sunset. But there are three more pools and I believe two more hottubs on the property. There is a hatched roofed bar which you can swim up to or have a seat and relax, whale watch or watch one of the incredible sunrises or sunsets.
We were fortunate enough to have our friend, the lovely Jennifer Johnson, arrange all the details for us. If you chose to rent our the entire Hacienda like we did(and I highly recommend doing it that way) the staff at the Hacienda will help you arrange cook, bartender and maid staff if you so choose. All of our meals, made by Aide where wonderful. Her carne asada was the best I have ever had!! All drinks and food were made with fresh produce from the surrounding area. Everything else was bought at Costco on the way to the hacienda and that worked perfect!! We had dinner one night at the Surf Colony, a five minute walk down the beach. It was wonderful!! I highly recommend the poblano soup if it is still available!! We never did this but they will deliver to the Hacienda if you so choose. Cerritos restaurant in El Pescadero, a 10 minute drive, was also a highlight of our dinners there. It is a family run, open air (thats right, no walls) restaurant that will blow your mind. It is a culinary experience you should not miss while in the area.
On the beach just below Hacienda Cerritos you can arrange for surf lessons or just rent boards, get massages, arrange for fishing trips, among many other activities. All for much less than you would pay in Cabo. We also took a day trip into Todos Santos as well as to Palm Beach. Both were amazing!!
Hacienda Cerritos is not a full service hotel but it has never claimed to be. It is unfortunate that the people posting negative reviews on here are mostly doing so out of lack of research and preparation on their part. I would also like to add that the hacienda will work with anyone to help them arrange whatever additional amenities they need during their stay. Including cook, bartender and maid. They were great to work with and anything we needed addressed they did so right away. Renting a car and stopping a costco or grocery to get what you need for your stay would be advised or you can simply eat out or have meals delivered. We did our research and did this and our trip was worry free. It is truly a once in a life time experience and we are already looking into booking a return trip next year.

What a cool place!!! Not your ordinary hotel but a place to dream about!! Fun to just explore the property and all the uniquely different rooms, bungalows and suites, most with their own private hot tubs!! We rented the whole house and had all 12 rooms for our group...what a blast!! The bartender, cooks, maids etc...were so welcoming and helpful and would do anything to make our stay comfortable. (I spilled oil on my sweatshirt and they washed it, hung it to dry and brought it to me!)
The whale watching from just about anywhere on the property was spectacular. Every day, all day for 6 days we could see the whales spouting and occasionally jumping. It was truly breathtaking. The views from this place are out of this world. We could sit in the hot tub and watch while our friends surfed and boogie boarded and cheer them on.
The beach is beautiful and the waves perfect for boogie boarding and surfing. The surf instructor Erik spoke very good English and was so nice and helpful...and cute!! The massages on the beach are amaaaazing!! I've had plenty of massages in my day and this was one of the best I've ever had. Most of us either walked or ran on the beach for miles every morning. So beautiful. The food at the Surf Colony was also equally amazing and very well priced.
What a great trip we had. It is out of the way but if your looking to hang out and party with your group, have a family reunion, or just have a quiet romantic vacation on a beautiful beach this is the way to go!!

Went with a group from Portland, Or lead by the fabulous Jen Johnson! Bartender(Gregorio), and amazing cook Idae, and maids were the sweetest and very helpful!
Gorgeous house, amazing decor and views to die for!
Highly, highly recommend!

This hotel is out in the middle of no where. It took us two hours of driving to get there from the airport and it was not a pleasant drive at all. Unfortunately we got to see the worst parts of cabo which left us with a bad impression...when we finally made it there, we were greeted, if you could even call it that , by a lady on her phone who barely acknowledged us...no hospitality here. After she ended her conversation she took us to out room. Hotel is beautiful, like a big old mansion, but no elevators or anyone to carry your bags up all of the stairs. The room itself was very nice but one of our doors did not even lock. We notified someone and they had to run into town to buy a lock. The room was stuffy but opening the windows just brought in huge flies. The flies were unbearable. We tried eating next door, the only restaurant in walking distance, and although the food was delicious, we could hardly eat, as we were swarmed by flies...

We stayed at this hotel for all of about 4 hours. We used the pool, had a drink, ate, and everything was a bad experience. Might I add that we were the only people staying at this hotel??

We paid 600 for 4 nights through a living social dal. We checked into the Sheraton right away and lost all of our money, as they would not reimburse us. To us, it was worth it to get out of that place. It's just not ready to open as a hotel. Not unless you want to go on vacation and have to do all the things you do at home, like cooking, grocery shopping....

First trip to Cerritos CBS.We decided to stay at the "Hacienda " due to its location as we wanted to stay at this beach.First off I want to say that the staff work very hard at welcoming you and making your stay as best possible. This resort is quite spectacular and very impressive. It does have certain challenges that they attend to daily. Due to the remoteness of the property they are on generator power and they have their own water which gets trucked in.You would not know this if it wasn't for the occational power outage. The 2 large well appointed kitchens make for great gathering places to eat and drink. The beach is one of the finest around and kids love the boogie boarding and surfing.Giving the deals they are offering you will not find better accomodations.

Room Tip: They do not have proper beds for extra people the rooms. So for a family with kids this is not the be...

the guy posting BUYER BEWARE must not of gotten the information of WHY Hacienda Cerritos was not sticking by the sharing spree customers, it was because sharing spree never paid them. I was actually down visiting when some of these things happened and heard one of the employees saying one of their competitors spread a rumor that they were closed due to a drug cartell which was completely false. They were nice enough to advise us to get sharing spree to refund our money, and that they would keep our reservation for 7 days for us to decide if we wanted to keep our reservation..so not all of the experiences were bad, mine personally was great and I think what they did was great. They could have not stood behind the prices they offered on sharing spree. From what I've read on all the reveiws...most people have bought "deals" and they have worked completely fine, it's a rough economy and they probably get more business this way, there is nothing wrong with doing that!
