we stayed at the camino real for three nights last week. at first i was apprehensive because of the bad reviews i had read here. when i got there it was so beautiful! it was extremely CLEAN (which is very unusual for mexico). the rooms were very spacious and the bathrooms were AMAZING. once again, VERY CLEAN & modern! i did have some baby ants on my bed but that was quickly fixed my moving the bed away from the wall. the baby ants were coming out of a crack on the ground and climbing up the bed. after i moved it away, they went away! also, i called the concierge's and they came up and mopped the floors & sprayed some Raid i believe.

the complaints i have are food service related: the service was OK. for such a beautiful hotel, they really need to step up their service! the line for dinner every night was ridiculously long because they only had ONE cook working on ONE grill! most of the staff did NOT speak any english so communicating our needs to them was frustrating. most of the time we just adopted a "oh forget it" attitude. i mean, afterall its mexico. we cant expect it to be perfect.

we went kayaking and it was super fun but they only had ONE jet ski which apparently was broken and covered in dust.

as for the "all inclusive plan", i have four words for you: READ THE FINE PRINT. the food was worth it but the good stuff (ie: lobster, steaks) were considered EXTRA. also, what we consider standard drinks in the US are considered PREMIUM in loreto. which means, you must pay MORE.

overall i would definitely come back to camino real. loreto is SO beautiful & serene. my group did not find it boring at all. it was peaceful and romantic. definitely a place for peace & quiet. the hotel was clean & beautiful. oh, and there were bee's but not more than anywhere else! they certainly werent
"swarming" all over the pool bar or anything! camino real is great!
