“only hotel on the beach in Loreto”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2012

we stayed here for only a couple of nights in June. We had spent a bit of time looking for a hotel on the beach and although many advertise that they are beachfront, this resort is really the only one with its own, and it is lovely. the staff are very friendly and helpful and the room we were given was delightful.

i would recommend the hotel.

Our family vacation was extended unexpectedly due to a canceled Alaska airlines flight. We were put in this hotel until the airlines could get all 6 of us on a plane......5 days later. This hotel was great for the kids and the adults. The entire staff was friendly and accommodating. They were pleasant every step of the way. We will definitely stay here again on a future trip to Loreto.

Room Tip: If you are a family, they have adjoining rooms. This worked out perfect for our group.

Friendly staff, nice rooms, great location and nice golf course. Enjoyed the food by the pool
for both lunch and dinner. A place to come back to.

What an amazing hotel...was just here over the Memorial weekend for a wedding and what an experience! The staff was super accommodating and helpful. The food at the restaurants was awesome. Highly recommend! My only negative was the bed in the room. It was a bit hard but I let the staff know and they put an extra mattress pad on it.

My husband and I just had our dream wedding at Inn at Loreto Bay. Carlos was the wedding Coordinator and was amazing planning everything perfect. My family and I came from LA to Loreto to find everything beautiful. The entire staff at the Inn was friendly and so helpful that we are planning another family and friends trip. I will give it a 10 for the entire trip and for making my wedding a dream come true. The food is amazing and the prices are cheap! It’s also kid friendly since my two children got alone with the staff and knew their names. Highly recommend this place!!!

Just got back from a perfect stay at the Loreto Inn. It was such a wonderful place, my 3 year old wants to visit again! We stayed in two different rooms. The first had a gorgeous view and a private hot tub under the stars. Note for parents of young children: patio has a drop off and my 3 year old tried to "feed the cactus" one morning right over the ledge which freaked me out and caused me to ask for a different room on the ground floor. The ground floor room was so ideal for us. It had a sliding glass door that went right out to the sand and water. We set up some chairs and spent 2 perfect days eating, drinking, and building sand castles.
The Inn is beautiful. The location exceptional. The staff sweet and helpful. I think every vacation we take from here out will be compared to Loreto and we will find ourselves visiting again and again in the years to come.
More details:
Got hot in the day but had a nice breeze to cool us down.
Water was colder than every where else we visited in the Sea of Cortez, not sure why.
Town of Loreto was not our favorite, we were happy to stay at the Inn and enjoy the village.
Strong margaritas, weak pina coladas!
Tasty mexican food, nasty "american food". Skip the "filet mignon" unless you just want a good and expensive laugh.
Staff at the pool were friendly and talkative, especially among themselves.
Mountains and landscaping gorgeous. Some of the best we've seen anywhere.
Kayaking easy and fun, beautiful schools of fish.
We got a great deal, and the Inn was near empty.
Worth the 7 hour drive from Cabo! Rent a nice car and enjoy it, consider an SUV or Jeep (we had the cheapest economy car.)
Visit the wine bar and macchiatto cafe, great!
Perfect for families and a romantic getaway.
Consider it the Anti-Cabo, no loud music or drunks. Loved it!

Room Tip: Ground floors have awesome access to beach and pool. Top floors have amazing views.

My husband and I have stayed in this hotel many times, the last time was May 2011. Every time we come, the ownership and/or staff is different. We keep coming back because we love the location and the views are so beautiful. The hotel has been anywhere from bizarre to really good as far as the service goes. Last time we came they had gone through yet another new owner. It is such a great spot and a beautiful property…I just wish they could get it right with accommodations and services. Not that the service is bad, it’s just very spotty. The restaurant is only open for dinner and the menu & kitchen accommodations are limited. The wait service is not the most attentive and we usually need to wait a long time or dig information out of them.
In the past they offered all-inclusive deal which includes all-you-can-drink & eat for an additional $50/day. This was great but they no longer all-inclusive deals. They also offered a golf package which is no longer available. We still enjoyed ourselves but the hotel occupancy was very scarce. The other disappointment was the cost of a taxi from the hotel to town, a hotel shuttle would be great given the distance to town.

Since we love the location, we may return hoping for improvement, however, they really need to figure it out if they want to stay operational. Perhaps, tourists are afraid to go into Mexico…Loreto is an area that is not threatened by drug cartel and I hope they bounce back.

Room Tip: Before booking, call and ask about special packages, our travel agent had a hard time getting inform...
