“Great !!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2010

After looking for hotels in Loreto by this way, we finally decided to choose this hotel. Our experiences have been excelent. From our reservation until the services that the hotel offer. The Hotel is great, the bed is comfortable, the ocean view is wonderful, the pools are big and the food is formidable. We were looking for place for live our second honeymoon and the sunset and sunrise are wonderful we didn´t know what choosing in this moment. Our principal concern was our boat but we didn´t know that the hotel has a big and free parking, besides that the hotel is located near of malecon where you can walk any time all the day across the beach, because the hotel has private beach too and others hotels in Loreto do not have. Definitly we will come back soon, should visit this hotel, is really great!!!! Pet and Jen

Clean rooms, Good service. Pool clean but not heated. Good food and good service at the resturant.Very nice people at the front desk spoke english. Walking distance to the marina and to town. Only the beach is between the room and the ocean. No refridgerator or telephone in the rooms. Plenty of hot water in the shower. Good air conditioner. Beds were firm. Pillows soft. We are from Sierra Vista Arizona. We drove to Guaymas and flew to Loreto. Great flight on Aerocalafia.

Stayed here on front and back end of kayak trip. Only positive is that room is clean and pool is new and decent. Otherwise hotel is terrible -- no hot water (or really any water -- kept breaking so could barely take a shower). Beds are hard and not comfortable. Hotel seems dead except in morning when you hear tons of people shouting at 6am through paper thin walls. For our purposes it was just barely ok, but be forwarned.

Had breakfast at La Mision one morning. Hotel looks very nice, pool area is nice as well. Breakfast was expensive and mediocre. Better off walking to someplace more authentic in town.

I dont know why this hotel is getting such a bad rap on this site. My husband, teenage daughter and I stayed here for one night during Christmas week and it was perfectly fine. It was very reasonably priced at about $75 for the three of us, with two double beds in a room facing the beach and pool with a nice patio. It also had a fireplace, which we didn't have time to use after dinner. The room was spacious and clean and had cable TV. The hotel itself was quite pleasant. It was a little cooler than we expected in Loreto, altho we learned it was typical December weather (nice for everything except being in the water), so we decided to head for La Paz the next day instead of staying another night in Loreto, But we would definitely have stayed there another night. The pool, we noticed, had a nice wind break set up on one side; it's basically on the beach. We had a nice breakfast in the bright, airy hotel dining room (hot cakes, French toast, some Mexican offerings), and another gringo family we spoke to said they'd had dinner there the night before and it was very good. An older kind of preppy gringo couple we ran into while we were looking for the hotel (the short street into it is torn up so you have to go around the block and there are no signs) said they'd stayed there several times and it was "very nice." You can walk to everything in town easily; it is at the very end of the beach road. Watching the pelicans dive at sunset in the picturesque harbor was fun. Many people still call it the La Pinta, as the Desert Inn chain apparently hasn't owned it for that long. We thought it was a great deal, plus you can book through its Web site and the cancellation policy gives you more flexibility for changing your plans.
