“Good hotel in Loreto”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2013 via mobile

La Mision has much to commend it. The rooms are large and clean, the shower is large and hot, the views of the sea are terrific, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the location is good - a walk of less than ten minutes to the heart of town, and the restaurant food is good and well presented. I want to give special thanks to Rudy, the concierge. He hooked me up with a Spanish teacher and when he had trouble finding her contact information he walked over to her house after work to get it for me!

There are a few reasons I did not give this hotel five stars. As mentioned the staff members are wonderful. However, certain parts of the hotel are understaffed. There are times of the day when one person at the front desk has to check in new guests, check out departing guests, answer calls from the rooms, act as concierge and also ring up sales in the gift shop. This is too much for one person to do and the waits can be long. The same is true in the restaurant where it took a full 3 hours for our group to have dinner. Finally the wireless Internet in the rooms worked for only one of the seven days of my stay.

Nonetheless I would stay at La Mision again and definitely recommend it to others.

“A wonderful respite”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2013

This is a beautiful Hotel. The rooms are comfortable and provide a wonderful view of the Sea of Cortez. The staff are gracious and charming. It is a very pleasant walk either along the seawall or strolling through the neighbourhood to the downtown plaza.
The meals served in Los Olivios restaurant were well presented and tasteful.Happy hour in the early evening is fun and a good bargain.
We would recommend La Mision as the place to stay in Loreto

Room Tip: 3rd or 4th floors in the centre looking directly out to the Sea of Cortez.

“This hotel is wonderful, one of the best.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2013

My husband and I stayed here for 5 days at the end of February and enjoyed it so much. We had a room on the 4th floor with a balcony overlooking the Sea of Cortez, huge room, huge bed, huge balcony, nice bathroom with good quality towels. The bed was comfy, pillows even more so. The staff are helpful and nice, restaurant good, bar has happy hour for the margaritas. Right on the promenade, although it was windy while we were there, nothing spoiled our enjoyment. An amazing place, truly memorable, could have stayed longer, just a shame it is such a long way for us in the UK.

Room Tip: Go for high up overlooking the sea.

“Beautiful hotel, great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2013

My wife and I have stayed at the Mision twice in the past three years. It's impeccably designed and detailed, and we felt very comfortable. The cool stone floors, spacious balconies, high ceilings, friendly customer service, and location right on the Malecon (beach boardwalk) make this an excellent choice in Loreto. I also appreciated the strength of the hotel bar's drinks; they definitely pour a mean margarita ;-) We'll definitely stay at the Mision when we're back in Loreto.

“Great Hotel in Loreto”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2013

La Mision Hotel is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for elegant, spacious, comfortable, well appointed, upscale yet surprisingly affordable ocean view accomodations and related amenities in the heart of Loreto. Having traveled extensively with stays in Four Seasons, Ritz-Carltons, Park Hyatts, Amans, Plaza Athenee, Waldorf-Astorias and the like, La Mision hits many similar notes, naturally scaled appropriately to it's setting, scope and style. Service was responsive and on point, food and bar offerings were excellent , rooms are extremely comfortable and the convivial pool, lobby and second floor restaurant/bar area made for a highly enjoyable stay (I was attending a large group meeting which certainly added to the energy in these areas during my visit). The staff, led impressively by the General Manager I encountered, Maria Gamez, was outstanding in their hospitality and service levels. I would unhesitatingly recommend the hotel for anyone looking for an excellent (yet affordable) accomodation in a resort style setting along the waterfront in quaint Loreto.
