We stopped off at La Mision Loreto on our way to Cabo. When we checked out on Friday morning, we left our overnight bag by the check out desk in the lobby. After our arrival in Cabo, we realized we were one bag short. We called La Mision and they immediately put our bag on the next bus to Cabo. We had our bag the next morning.

We spent 6 nights at the Tripadvisor top rated La Mision Hotel. This is a very nice 4 story hotel located on the waterfront, one block from the pier, 1/2 block from Dolphin Dive Center, and 1-3 blocks from several excellent restaurants. The hotel has nicely appointed rooms with truly excellent A/C, which is a must in Loreto during the warmer months. There is a large pool with a bar. The pool is increasingly in the shade as the afternoon goes by which is a very good thing. This week the topside temp was in the mid-90's with humidity, and the shaded pool was welcome. We have stayed here before and we will again. The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful -- Rudi and Javier, muchas gracias.

A small group of gals get together every Thursday to have lunch, usually poolside, sometimes upstairs in the restaurant. The swimming pool is beautiful and well landscaped, and I'm particularly charmed by the speakers playing soft music from the inside of a faux rock! The charming waiters are all very nice young men, however have a bit of a difficulty in prompt service. The kitchen is located through the lobby and up a flight of stairs, making quick service unavailable.However, having said that, the waiters are so amicable that we ladies are accustomed to it. A small kitchen in the downstairs pizza oven area, maybe? I've never stayed overnight there, however a few friends have. I've seen a couple of rooms and they are very clean, very nicely appointed. The lobby and grounds are imaculate. Whoever designed the redo of the hotel did an amazing job of it. If I were visiting Loreto, (I live here) I would stay in this hotel. kate

Ahh luxury!!! We were so happy when we checked into La Mision Hotel in Loreto. This hotel has wonderful decor, great air conditioning, cool marble floors and the most comfortable bed we have ever slept on in Mexico! The finishes are very high end - example: the walls of our room were done in Venetian plaster & the bath has granite counter tops. The best part for us was the actual central air conditioning - we were finally able to cool off!

After 3 days staying out of town we were so glad we had made the choice to come into the little town of Loreto to see what it was about. The hotel is just a short walk from the quaint town square, mission and many restaurants. Its located right on the malecon and we had a view of the Sea of Cortez and the hotel pool from our balcony. The pool temperature was actually cool (unlike the last hotel which had a pool as warm as a hot bath) so we spent one day just cooling off in the pool and sitting in the shade with bar service. I also had a wonderful massage at the hotel.

Our least favorite thing was the restaurant - we had one breakfast, one lunch and one dinner there and were not impressed. The presentation was nice, but the food itself was rather lack luster. This may be due to the fact that it was off season and the hotel almost empty. Example: they ran out of bacon for breakfast.

Service from all of the employees was very professional and helpful. The hotel still gets 5 stars because in this little town it is a very, very nice place to stay!
