“seafood at its best”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2014

The seafood is very good, however the place is very small and some tables are directly in the sun light. If you don't mine the wait its worth visiting. Pricey but worth it.

“Our Favorite Seafood Restaurant!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2014

We have been going here for years and it only gets better, very small place on the Malecon in Ensenada, but the seafood is so fresh, the oysters on the half shell, the steamed mussels, all is fantastic!! I have not had anything here that I did not thoroughly enjoy. The entire staff are so friendly and helpful. If you like fresh seafood this is the place to go!! Make sure you try the Sashimi Mixto, fresh fish and Octupus, so tender and tasty!

“This place is great, but don't go there!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2013

On a short cruise out of LA we decided to go here for lunch after wine tasting at the Ensenada vineyards. What a delight!! Great service and delicious, fresh seafood dishes.

Only eight tables, and mostly locals, but we were so happy to find one table for 2 available at 2pm. You cannot believe how wonderful the food is. It was not cheap, but worth every penny. The pillows of shrimp melted in your mouth and the calamari was crisp and tender with a fantastic asian dipping sauce.

The steamed mussels with frites were better than in Brussels! The server said we had ordered enough, after we asked for the sauteed shrimp dish, and he was right... now that is service! We will get the fresh fish next time.

The local white wine was $24 but went swimmingly with the pristine seafood. This may be a hole in the wall, but it is a glorious one.

No other tables opened up the whole time we were there, so it might be wise to make a reservation. I guess you would have to call. We just lucked out and would have missed a super experience if the restaurant had been full. Only one server spoke English, but speaking a little Spanish helps a lot.

The walk back to the cruise ship port was easy and it was a beautiful day. I love Ensenada!
The reason I say don't go here is because I might not be able to get in! So stay away!!

“Hole in the wall”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2013

This restaurant is located on the wharf in Ensenada. A little hard to find, but well worth it.
This is a tiny nondescript restaurant. Nothing special to look at, but wow, the food! Get reservations as he is always full. David is an awesome chef. The fare is strictly seafood. The mussels and clams are to die for! Everything is well prepared and beautiful presented. The lava cake for dessert...well that is enough for four people to dig into! Our favorite place to eat.
He has limited hours...lunch to 5:30 pm...best time is about 2:00 pm without reservations.

“Just Incredible!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2013

We had the most amazing food experience, the Ceviche was simply the best ever. The fresh fish balanced by perfect amount of fresh herbs, vegetables was extraordinary. Then we had Sashimi which could compete with the best in LA, and steam clams had the light and delicious broth that we finished up to the last drop!
