This hotel is located far from everything...
Far from a decent beach
Far from downtown Ensenada
For from the Bufadora
Moreover, cab rides aren't very cheap.

The nearby beach area is very difficult to access, and once you get there, it looks terrible / post-apocalyptic.

The pool area is dated and sad.

The rooms are also quite old and in need of renovation.

The only positives are that the staff speak very good english and are very friendly. The hotel also feels extremely safe.

I have never been treated so KINDLY. From the reservation, to our departure. Everyone who worked showed us kindness ,respect, we were treated like Royalty. We celebrated our Granddaughters 9th Birthday. We started in the Cottage, and then were upgraded to the Presidential suite. WOW, what a place, 2 bedrooms, living room, dining room, full kitchen, it was out of this world! With all the negative publicity going on in Mexico we had some concerns. We never had any issues, we traveled to the La Buffadore, into town, the markets, all over, not one problem. I would encourage everyone to visit Mexico, and if you do please go to Estero Beach. They are the BEST!!!! Special thanks to Mr. Luis Novelo, Victor, Christopher,Oswaldo & All of the staff,Thank you for a Great time! We will be back to see you real soon.

I had the grandest time - I slept in a gorgeous suite with the view of the ocean, it was peaceful and beautiful. The staff especially the restaurant staff was very friendly and accommodating. It was the best birthday weekend ever and when I save up the money I will definitely return.

I've been going to Estero and Baja on a regular basis for over 5 years now. If you want the most beautiful location between TJ and Ensenada, Estero Beach is it, hands down. The way the mountains ring the bay you almost think you're in Hawaii. Sunrises are beautiful and sunsets are amazing and they are especially fun since many people will gather at the beach with their favorite beverage to witness the end of the day. Now, I'm sure many of you are concerned about safety and with the recent reports in the media you may be inclined to stay away. There is no denying that there is a drug war taking place and you will see Mexican troops on patrol in Humvees with automatic weapons. But, I honestly feel safer in Baja then I do in San Diego or Los Angeles. The news media has completely blown the whole situation out of proportion. Personally, I believe it is done on purpose to create hysteria and to keep law enforcement jobs.

Ok, enough on that back to Estero. One has to remember that there is a cultural difference once you cross the border. The things Americans take for granted are not the same in the Mexican culture. This is what makes traveling fun, the Mexicans also have a very laid back lifestyle which translates into a very stress free enjoyable environment for us harried, go, go, go Americans. They are also not into keeping everything in perfect working condition, hence many hotels are not perfect as we come to expect as Americans. In fact, there are no corporate owned hotels between TJ and Ensenada so most are family or independently owned as is the case with Estero Beach Resort. So, if you can overlook some minor blemishes, live with the fact that you might miss a few emails and just enjoy the beauty, peace and serenity then this is the place!

Estero is a great place to kick back relax, soak up the sunny weather in the middle of winter, visit the sights, eat great food, take a horse back ride on the beach, enjoy the views & the friendly staff. Brought my teenaged son while we were in the San Diego area for Christmas break. We felt very secure & safe. My room was large & clean with a great view and patio -- the price is right, too. Can't wait to go back this winter.

  • Liked — Location, views, resort restaurant
