If you are looking to get away from it all and need a place to relax and feel welcome and safe, Statia is the place to go. It's quiet, the food in the various restaurants are better than anything I've ever had. And I've never been anywhere where the people always waved hello and beeped their horns when driving, not to warn you to get the hell out of the way, but to just say hello. If you're interests lie in scuba diving and snorkeling, this is the best in the world. You won't find any casinos or exotic shopping here. But what you will find is friendly people, good food, hiking, scuba diving, snorkeling, and above all, the peace and quiet you were looking for in the first place. It's worth the trip. We're glad we found this little treasure in the caribbean. Do yourself a favor and get lost on the island of Statia.
