The royal decameron baru beach met our every wish for our first visit to Colombia, starting with the ride to the hotel ( an adventure in itself) to the room, the people, the weather.. everything was spot on the only negative experience we had was at the Italian restaurant " il furno" the steak there was way too tough for my liking but hey somebody else might like it that way....walk to playa Blanca, we went on the Sunday and all the local Colombians were at the beach enjoying the day with there families this did our hearts good to see the locals being able to enjoy the beach, no hassles no concerns just great fun...the hotel does offer fully guided tours to Cartagena by either bus or boat, these trips are a little pricey...we just asked them for the shuttle bus it takes you right into the walled city where a member of the decameron explorer tour group meets you and takes you to there office where they supply a small snack and drinks, clean bathrooms and a map of the city with directions on where to see whatever you want great day and only $17.00 round trip per person the walled city was extremely safe and alive with culture......if you are thinking about visiting colombia and thinking about the royal decameron baru beach....STOP THINKING ABOUT IT!! AND GO,GO,GO
