“A nice treat!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago NEW

This was the final place we stayed while visiting Thailand... It was air conditioned and it had a FANTASTIC restaurant on site! We loved the pool and the staff was friendly. It was an easy location, but it wasn't walking distance from the town area. We rented motor scooters, but a cab would have been available.

-They allow alcohol on site, but they don't sell it there.
-The hotel is very close to a mosque, so you will hear that at times during the day.
-Don't skip eating at this restaurant! The breakfast is amazing!
-Beds and showers were very nice!
-Very spacious rooms.
-Very comfortable stay!

Room Tip: Pool side is fantastic!

We had a very nice stay of 1 night in this hotel while traveling through the south of Thailand.

It is close to Ao Nang beach but however it is very quiet and you are surrounded by trees. Nice pools, very cosy hotel.

The rooms are nice but what was great in this hotel was the way the rooms are surrounded by trees, cosy pools, ...

Breakfast was ok, not superb. Nevertheless, we loved this hotel! A must do to relax while traveling.

The pictures shown on this resort's website reflects only the outside areas accurately. The interior of the chalet to which we were shown bore so little resemblance to that of the pictures that it could be thought you were in the wrong resort. What the Sunda Resort actually offers is basic budget accommodation with the exception of the en-suite room and it's facilities. It is my opinion that these facilities are unfit for their intended purpose. It was clear that at some point someone had demolished a wall in this room but failed to clear up as other than concreting the walls no attempt whatsoever had been made to make good the floor so we were obliged to stand on broken bricks when using the shower. In addition it would appear that a small paving stone has been placed over the top of sewage drain. On seeing this my initially reaction was to return to reception to advise them that we had accidentally been shown into a chalet that was under going refurbishment, but this was met only with amusement and to be informed that they were all like this.

We stayed in this chalet for 4 nights only because there was no hope of a refund.

In addition the garden rooms (in which we stayed) offer no privacy AT ALL unless you keep the blind/curtains drawn.

Room Tip: Avoid altogether unless you don't mind showering in a building site

Friendly. Clean Room. AC works well. WiFi is good! They provide free shuttle service and is a must for the hotel as it is far from the beach.

What I didn't like is the location of the resort and the washroom is too weird... there are lizards, pile of pebbles right next to commode and the shower area doesn't even have tiles (just cemented)... I usually take bath twice a day but I couldn't even make it to one time a day. I stayed there for 3 nights and showered just once.
We booked pool view, but the pool was visible only if you stand by the door.
Noise level is high as you will hear frogs and other insects all night long.
Ao Nang Beach road is the best option if you are looking for a place to stay.

Room Tip: P13 - not exactly a pool view room.

Stayed for 4 nights, it is a lovely setting. Chalet type bungalows set into the jungle. Timber walk boards between the chalets with two swimming pools. Very peaceful at night. We never saw the room in the photo with the big wood carving on the wall but one assumes it is there somewhere. In the same way the photo of the pool with a building behind it does not seem to be remembered.
The room was very clean, with everything in good order with free water and Wi-Fi, safe. Our only downer was the bathroom, one half was tiled and the other half just a plaster type finish with a sealer on. The floor of the shower was also unfinished as it looked like they had taken a wall down and you can still see the lower course of bricks. the roof of the bathroom was not sealed and it soon became apparent that the mosquitoes knew this too, especially at night if you put the light on. Apparently when asked the question we were told that it is finished!!!!
Cant comment on the food as we never ate in and never saw any food.
Staff were very helpful. I did feel a little insulted when leaving as the taxi would not leave until they had checked the room, this took about 5 min or so, not good if your tight on time for a flight.

Room Tip: They all seem quite good.

Travelled with 6 friends of which we stayed in 5 rooms for 2 days and 2 nights (2 double rooms and 3 single rooms). The rooms are big and clean with a nice 'lepaking' place outside each room. The place is not within the stretch of shops fronting the beach and is therefore quiet with the sound of insects, especially at night. They provide free shuttle service to and from the shops and the beach at any time until 9 pm. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. They have 2 swimming pools which are clean. For Muslims, the restaurant is halal.
