“Good hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2013

I've stayed at the Tipa Resort 3 times. The location is excellent for the beach, restaurants and shopping.

The deluxe rooms are very nice and comfortable, nice big comfortable bed, lovely shower room. The wooden bungalows are not as nice as the deluxe rooms.

The surrounding areas in the grounds of the hotel are nice and green, the swimming pool is ok. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is ok not the best I've had in Thailand.

Room Tip: Choose the deluxe rather than one of the bungalows.

Awfully friendly staff. The bungalow was bigger than my first apartment and clearly had better garden view. Some might complain about the selection in the buffet breakfast, but we didn't get bored over the 3 nights stay. Can only recommend it!

Room Tip: Go for a bungalow in the font.

2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

We booked a family room/Two-Bedroom Suite via Booking.com and it was suppose to house four adults. The bed in the bedroom was good size (king size) but very hard. However, the extra bed they had put in the living room was very tiny and not suitable for two adults (perhaps two kids). The hotel could not change the bed, they put in a cheap extra bed (type fold away bed).
The pool area was dirty.
In addition, the taxi service via the hotel was poor. We traveled with a toddler and book car with child seat from the hotel. When the taxi came it brought a faulty child seat, and I was very frustrated when we had to leave with the car without proper safety for my child.

Great location just 5min walk to Ao Nang beach. Overall the service is good and staff is friendly. Room is cozy with hugh king size bed in deluxe roon. Lots of greenery and trees... peaceful and relax resort.

We stayed in this hotel in the past and liked it. Unfortunately, years went by and the bungalows deteriorated a lot. We were "upgraded" but they put us in a bungalow at the rear of the hotel, which implied that we had to climb to reach our bungalow. There are little cars to bring you to the bungalows but they are not always there - especially at night, when you come back after having a dinner. So it was not very easy for my Mum. The staff barely speaks English, we had no towels in the room when we checked-in, the shower delivered only drops of water and the breakfast was horrible - the poorest I have ever seen and don't be late because at 10 a.m. precisely, they close everything. In short, avoid this hotel, there are much nicer places to stay in Ao Nang.

we went there dated 03 may 2013 -- we booked for rooms (double) twin sharing
we did not expect it will be a house by itself it was banglow type of house we reached there about 4 pm yet there were a lot of mosquitoes .We tried to change the rooms to Superior rooms but we had no rooms we were told to pay extra $100 / for each night .there was buggy service so not bad otherwise up and down the rooms would be really tired for older adults the breakfast so not so interesting simple buffet .

Room Tip: no fitness center not advice able for small kids as alot of mosquitoes
