“Overall a comfortable stay!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2013

My husband and i booked the deluxe room with pool view. Good balcony size. Housekeeping serivce was good as our room was kept clean and tidy during our stay. Bed was super comfortable. Aircon worked well. We travelled with another family with a baby. They booked the deluxe room with garden view, definitely less spacious. We tried the baby sitting service provided by the hotel. We requested for 3 hours of service in the evening when the baby was asleep while we are out nearby for dinner. The baby sitter charged THB200 per hour and it went well.

Check-in and check-out service was efficient. The buffet breakfast variety was good enough for us. The pool with the slide is good fun for kids (and even some adults). We enjoyed relaxing at the pool bar as well. We agreed with the comments made by some other reviewers - the pool can be dangerous as it is somehwat easy to slip and fall if you are not careful while walking by the edge of the pool. I hope management can look into this and improve the design.

We liked the location of the hotel. It's located on a quiet lane with easy walking distance to restaurants and shops. Opposite the hotel you can find convenient store and massage place. We tried the foot massage for THB250 for an hour. The next day I went back to the same massage place for 1 hour of aroma oil body massage for THB300 and I enjoyed that massage. The Coconut Bar opposite the hotel is a good place to chill out in the evening, good music and cozy.

We had dinner at Carnivore Steak & Grill and at Lae Lay Grill. We were very impressed with the food and service quality at Carnivore (we walked from our hotel, less than15mins). Definitely recommend this place. Lae Lay Grill is near Carnivore and we enjoyed the view & ambience and the service staff were attentive.

Overall, we enjoyed our 3 nights stay at Centara Anda Dhevi. I would defintiely recommend this hotel for families with kids.

hotel is located a little bit far from the main venues. the nearest pier and majority of eateries/restaurants are within 10-15 mins walk which is not so essential but can be annoying if it's hot. the hotel is pretty much well designed. the room i stayed in was ok with everything you may need except slippers and bathrobe (that was very weird for 4* hotel). cant comment about food coz did not book breakfast. the hotel mostly occupied by russians (all good except that they being out of the hotel leave their pool towels on the sunbeds for the whole day and it can be a problem to find some to relax)

This was our first trip to Thailand and following a couple of nights in Bangkok we flew to Krabi airport for a half hour transfer to the Centara Anda Dhevi. the hotel is a smothers have said in an ideal location away from the main Ao Nang town. If its not too hot a half hour stroll into Ai Nang along the beach front is very worthwhile. Failing that there is always a scooters with an open side car to take you to whoever you want in Ao Nang for the equivalent of one Pound. The hotel itself is very comfortable and a good base. We had a pool view room for the first five days but checked on arrival to see if we could upgrade to a pool access room and we were upgraded for the last two days for about £ 25 . if you havn't had a room with direct access to a pool before its well worth doing for a couple of days but of course you need to make use of it if you do so. the hotel is very clean and despite some prior negative comments we found all the staff on reception and in the restaurant to be very friendly. the slight down side is that the are lots of children about and with just the one pool it is always going to be a little noisy

Just returned from a 3D2N stay in krabi in this hotel.

Pros
1) beautiful rooms, clean bathroom and bed and I highly recommend getting the "pool access view" as the convenience of diving into the pool directly from your pateo is amazing.
2)Front staff were efficient and friendly and does not reflect the "bad service ratings" given by other users of this website.
3)located near enough to tourist attractions and is also located near to this amazing thai seafood restaurant (can' recall the name)
4) Good "happy hour" offers 5-7 PM daily with excellent choices of drinks and good mix.
5) amazing spa experience but costlier than most of the other roadside spas
6)beautiful pool

Cons
1) Only 1 computer available for internet usage; at one point had to wait up to 25 minutes just to use the PC
2) were not informed by spa staff that our stay will entitle us 20% off massages. We took the massage package while waiting for our check in.
3) half drunk mineral water bottle was not kept aside but taken as a new bottle the next day
4) tour packages are more expensive than the tourist centre located just 10 metres away. eg 4 island tour with speedboat = 1200 BHT, outside 800 BHT.
5) okay breakfast, can do better with more choices

we visited with 2 children in march. our first impression: stylish, modern resort; friendly staff who smiled and greeted us every where, it was nice. Location not totally central. pool was too small -- too packed with tourists and young kids. at about 9 pm on Day 1 after returning from the shopping in terribly humid conditions, we were parched. We had finished all 4 bottles of water in our room and had forgotten to stop by at the minimart to replenish. May we please have some water as the kids are thirsty? Sorry, we'll have to charge you for extra water. Believe you me, I have travelled extensively for work all over the world BUT i have never stayed in a hotel where customers are treated so poorly and had to be told that extra drinking water would be charged!

Next, i thought we had forgotten our toothbrushes. I called and guess what -- i was told they would ALSO charge for toothbrushes. Day 2, breakfast. i like my tea with the bag in, strong. they provide tea bags and instant coffee in the room but in my rush, i didnt take the tea bags with me to breakfast. So i asked the smiley waitress if i could have a hot cup of tea with the bag in please. she said yes, but she would charge me extra for that! I was incredulous -- how is this possible? She said, well, if you don't want to be charged, please provide me with the tea bag from your room.

Amazing!

So while the staff may be friendly and all, they clearly lack service culture.Disappointing. Not worth the 6900 baht a nite we paid.

Dear Cheesetomato,

Thank you for your comments on tripadvisor following your stay with us. It is through your feedback that we are able to give praise where due and to also improve on the service we offer where we have fallen short.

I was pleased to read your kind comments with regard to the resort and the friendly staff and will be delighted to pass this on.

I have noted your comment with regard to complimentary water. Our general guideline is to offer one complimentary bottle per guest per day, likewise we also give complimentary tea, coffee creamer sugar etc. If I may point out for our readers there is also a refrigerated mini bar in every room offering soft drinks, juices and water but at a minimal cost for the convenience of not having to leave your room and go to the shops across the road.

The tooth brush and tooth paste I apologise as this may not have been fully explained but what we do offer to guest is what you would normally buy in the shop. A full normal tube of tooth paste and a selection of normal tooth brushes, not the one time use and dispose kind. Many of our guests that stay with us are here for a week possibly two weeks and appreciate this rather than the disposable kind.

Thank you also for your comment with regard to the tea and tea bag, I have discussed this with my Food and Beverage Manager and although we do offer continuous free pour tea and coffee he will address the specific guest requests.

Thank you again for your comments

Kind regards
Wayne Duberly

Centara is a hotel with good hardware-- rooms, design are great, but bad software-- service, process and communication.

Stayed there for seven days-- ok location, but so many miscommunications with staff. Food was not good.

Cheap but average. Keep in mind, it's a SEAsian style resort-- not managed like a European or American resorts. There's babysitting available.

Dear Cwonder2012

Thank you for staying with us and for your comments on Tripadvisor.

I was pleased to read that you appreciated the hardware of the hotel although sorry to see there were communication challenges and the food was not to your liking. This I will certainly pass on to our Front Office team and the Chef.

Kind regards

We stayed in this hotel in February. This hotel is very well placed from the location point of view with Aao Nang beach just 10 mins walk and far from the madding crowd of tourists. We stayed on 4th floor pool facing room. The room was spacious, clean and hygienic.
Hotel has a fantastic pool with lot of fun activities (with a slide too). Breakfast is good and has good variety to cater to the needs of various groups of tourists.
Staff is very friendly and well behaved.
Food quality is good but not out of the world.

Room Tip: Take either a pool access room or a pool view room on 3rd or 5th floor.
