Although a fair distance off the main broadwalk, there's construction sites around the area of the hotel, so you won't get any peace there in the daytime. The hotel itself seems to have undergone a bit of a facelift but feels incomplete or half-done.
Despite the facelift to the corridors, the room itself aside from the bathroom was pretty aged but very spacious. There was a lack of towels and pillows and not even a toilet paper roll in the bathroom. The hotel seemed rather empty, so it's not too big an ask to actually prepare the room before a guest checks in. Bathtub and shower area can be a bit dangerous because the water gets everywhere and doesn't drain anywhere. The basin tap fixture wasn't cemented properly to the basin counter so using it was like turning on a random garden sprinkler.
The pool was huge but the pool deck chair cushions had some form of ant infestation (complete with eggs) on them. The pool towel area was tucked away inside the pool bar so you had to walk the full perimeter of the pool or wade across the pool to get towels.
In the evening, the corridors were extremely dim (think horror movie dim) and the electrical power saving socket where you place your room key to turn on power to the room kept malfunctioning (you had to jiggle your keycard to get it to work every time the lights and AC go out). The last straw was the air conditioner that started making all sorts of noise at 3am, ruining any chance for sleep.
Breakfast was mediocre, very far from the often great breakfasts you'd expect from hotels in Krabi, Phuket and Samui.
After breakfast, we elected to check out as the combination of failures were ruining a holiday. When i approached the reception counter, they were adamant that I need to pay for all 3 days. I refused as the product was substandard. I paid for the night and left for a much better hotel at a much better price just 100 metres further down the street. Walking past the hotel, you'll also see their fitness centre, which looks brand new with modern equipment, but probably not the greatest selling point for a holiday in Krabi when the rooms are so dismal.
