I went here with my husband on the two last days of our week-long honeymoon. We were really looking forward to arrive and relax here, since we splurged a lot of money for the private villa. When we first got here, we were completely swept off our feet - it looks exactly like the pictures, the villa was in perfect condition - at least at first glance.

The staff who brought us over to the room left in a hurry without even showing us where to place the key card - which wouldn't have been a problem if it wasn't at the other side of the villa. We had to discover ourselves that the keys weren't meant for the front door, but for the side door instead. One of the three air-conditioners wasn't working so we called the receptionist, and they sent an employee who can barely speak English. We then somehow figured out that all the private villas now have only two functioning airconds - which wouldn't have been an issue if they had just told us beforehand. The jacuzzi didn't have hot water so we were freezing cold when we tried it out. In contrast, the shower has this bar of metal that gets really really hot when you're showering with hot water, that it literally burned my arm when I accidentally bumped into it.

Breakfast was a delightful selection of food, but the staff was inefficient and unfriendly. They took a long time to clear our table and let our empty plates fill the table. I went to the reception to ask about the resort's spa services but the employee was in the middle of a friendly conversation with his friend, so he answered half-heartedly, and then called me back as I was leaving to give me a brochure for the spa.

The resort is located in the more upscale part of Ao Nang; it's close to the bars but a bit further away from all else - this isn't really a problem, you can always take a tuk-tuk or walk the extra mile, Ao Nang isn't a large place at all.

All in all, I would still recommend this place for how beautiful it is, but they seriously need to train their staff better. The standard of their staff doesn't match how exclusive the resort is, at all.

Reading the other reviews seems like we got lucky, but nothing really bad for our first 3 nights (one to go). We have a wonderful pool access room, very clean. We had originally booked through agoda for 2 nights at a 50% discount as it is low season here, and we wanted 2 more nights and asked if we could do so, and the front desk actually lowered the price to book directly with them (which makes sense for the hotel and us) so we were only paying 1200 baht per night.

On the downside, I had a very urgent call to make to Vancouver and found it strange the phone in the room did not work. When I asked the front desk they said that the hotel does not offer that "service" and I would have to walk down a couple blocks to use a public pay phone. Wifi is a little bit weak depending on where you are. Room was not cleaned on our second day even though we had left room make up request on for over 10 hours during the day while we were out.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel last June for about two weeks. June is the lowest season, which explains why everything runs at a slow pace and also why the hotel cannot offer a breakfast buffet with less than 20% room occupation. However when there were sufficient clients, a very nice buffet was offered. Otherwise there was only a la carte breakfast.

The construction next door is really not a deficiency of the hotel. So they should not be held responsible for that with a bad rating.

The manager is quite friendly, and willing to help. We only booked a few days to try it out through Agoda. After a few days we decided to stay so we negotiated a very reasonable price directly with the manager. She offered a slightly better price than Agoda.

The hotel is located near the beautiful Noppharattara beach and 10 mn walking distance from the central Ao Nang tourist area. The pool area is very comfortable. The pool is of Olympic size with pool bar. There is a nice gym and two computer stations near the restaurant.

A few cons however. The housekeeping could be improved. Still, the staff is very friendly and always willing to help. The general maintenance of the hotel could also be improved a little.

In summary, this hotel offers a good value for money. We may very well decide to use it again when we return to lovely Ao Nang.

We stayed there last June and staff was really horrible, they don't understand even basic English. Construction site next door guarantees horrible noises for your 'pleasant' stay. Breakfast is more joke than food and restaurant looks dead. We was trying to order some food, but we got wrong food and they did not even bother fix that. BTW that food was horrible and over priced, feel get rip off. I would not recommend this hotel for no one. Where they got 4 Star Rating? cereal box??
