“The BEST Choice On Our Holiday!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2011

Totally loved staying at this resort for 3 nights in April and wished we could have stayed longer. We have traveled all over the world and found standards to be excellent at this resort. A great little find.

* Absolultely fantastic food and comparitive in price to restaurants on the main strip.
* Far enough out of the 'city' to escape the hussle and bussle but only a 15 walk (or 20 minute stumble after a few hundred cocktails) away.
* Free internet and very friendly helpful staff
*Stunning views of the cliffs and wonderful surrounds, very lush and jungle like.

Don't waste your time searching Trip Advisor for weeks on end, book this resort!

Spent a week in that hotel. First it was ok, on the second day "somehow" money (rather big amount for Thailand) were stolen from the safety box. I should thank the thief that he/she didn't take everything. The balcony doors can be opened from both sides, even if they are closed.
The toilet bowl was leaking all the time.
Clothes don't dry if the aircondition is off, but you will be charged extra money, if hotel will notice that you use aircondition while you are out.
In some rooms there were cockroaches, fortunately not in our room.
Fitness room was totally poor.
Breakfast was ok, but somedays fried and scrumbled eggs were cold.
After two days of rain beer was finnished in the bar and restaurant, how it can be possible?

This was our very first hotel after we arrived to Ao Nang from Bangkok. The location, service, and everything seemed great. The only thing – it was a bit overpriced and as usual, the airconditioner blew cold air straight into the bed, lol:) this is pretty common in Thailand, as we have found out later

Yes this resort is not on the beach front, and about 15 minute walk to the main strip, but for us this is a good thing. I like the fact it feels secluded and is in a stunning location to look at with the limestone cliffs behind and the clever landscaping giving it a jungle feel.

Some people have complained about the staff being disinterested and unhelpful. We found them very nice with the girl on the desk organising us a last minute tour despite the clear language barrier. The staff in restaurant even warmed up our left overs from a cooking course without complaint!

The breakfast wasnt amazing I do admit, but they tend to be hit and miss in Thailand and I didnt find it worse than most places we have been. Standard fair with Eggs, toast, yoghurt, cereal and thai food.

All in all, despite a fleeting trip, we will be back to Phupha Ao Nang soon!

In contrast to other resorts in Ao Nang, Phu Pha is located on the outer skirts of the city center - near gorgeous limestones.

The location was a definate advantage compared to the other accommodation possibilities near the main streets.

Getting to town or the beach is effortless; the Hotel provided a shuttle service every 2 hours or so, but was very flexible with its timetable.

The staff handled every problem we presented them and even haggled us good prices on some of the tourist tours.

Breakfast at the time of out stay consisted of toast, various fruits, eggs, ham, beans, delicious pancakes, fried noodles/rice. The kitchen also made omelettes on demand.

Because of the resorts secluded, jungle-like surroundings, be prepared to run into some insects - this simply cannot be avoided. (Pack some mosquito/insect repellent)

Our party of 4 would recommend this resort to other travellers without hesitating.

We loved this place - like in the middel of the jungle. Rooms a little small, but nice and clean. Connected room to our children- very good. Nice pool, friendly staff, and very good breakfast and food. 15 min walk from town, but there was free shuttlebus - free wireless on the rooms- so good for our children.
We loved the pool in the afternoon. We will come back again.
