The sunset view was truly spectacular. Its a pity the balcony seats were all taken when we were there. Do make a reservation to secure those few seats.
The food was also great. Ordered a grilled fish in banana leaf and was astounded that the whole fish was deboned. Also ordered a broccoli with scallops and a Tom yum goong. All the seafood were fresh and succulent. My only gripe is that there were only 5 broccoli in the veg dish. I guess the focus is more on the scallops than the veg.
Service was good too. They have a tuk tuk service which will pick up and drop off at your hotel for free. But theres still a flight of stairs you have to climb to reach the restaurant after the tuk tuk drops you off.
To be honest, the price is rather steep compared to other restaurants as Lae Lay charges service charge and GST unlike other restaurants. Our bill came up to 1501 baht for 2 pax with 3 dishes and 2 cocktails. But I think the food, view and service is deserving of that price.
