“Outstanding Resort and Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2011

I have come back to KL for approx. 2 weeks and had no time to write a review for them until I got resort's email asking for writing a review, so I decided to write this for them.

I booked this resort through airasiago.com which offered very special deal. I didn't expect too much about their services and property itself. I just selected because of very popular on tripadvisor.

After arriving this resort, I felt that I chose the right one. Smile and Warm Welcome and welcome drink was served. Staff is very helpful, cozy, friendly etc. I felt as if I am at home.

Room was cleanliness, modern, colorful ans spacious and said that I love their bathroom very much. It's very large. Never saw like this before.

The pool is small but has a nice view of mountain with very nice pool service.

Massage is expensive if compare with outside but I could pay more because of their service provided to us.

Will definitely come back to this resort again.

My wife and I have just returned to Belgium after our second visit to Phu Petra. We loved it.
The Resort is in a lovely, quiet setting although a little distant, there is a free shuttle bus every hour and its only about 15 minutes walk from the town center.

There is a very nice pool area / sun deck, in a very well maintained garden, with a great view of the nearby cliff.

The room “Majestic Suite Poolside Villas” was absolutely fabulous, large, light airy, plenty of storage, lovely en-suite bathroom and balcony and normal size fridges, with a reasonably priced minibar. On arrival our bed had been decorated with orchids and ‘towel swans’.
Free access to the Internet was greatly appreciated.

The staff at this hotel is amazing, they are so wonderful at their jobs but that's beside the point, as I found them to be some of the most genuinely lovely people I've ever met. We were particularly impressed with the cheerful, friendly dining room staff, especially the dining room manager Mr. Lek. Always smiling, always excellent service, we will newer forget you.
The food was great and breakfast had a good selection.
The reception staff was also very friendly and helpful.

We are very happy to recommend this Resort and wish all off you all the best.
Mr. Niels.

We visited Krabi for our honeymoon and thus were looking for a private and comfortable accommodation and I must say Phu petra resort provided us more than what we expected.

The concept of villas itself is very beautiful and the interiors are very well done. The pool side is great with a view of cliffs surrounded on all sides. Also, there are atleast 15 different types of orchids and other flowers inside the resort which gives its beauty an icing on the cake...

But above all, i want to appreciate the resort for its warm and co-operative staff. I would give five stars to them for service. We received very hospitable service right from the first day of stay. They helped us with information regarding moving around in Krabi plus we got an upgrade to a majestic villa and changes in menu for our lunch at the restaurant. That was really great!!!

The only reason why i have not given u guys a 5 star is because its a bit in the interiors and a lil away from the main road. The walk from the main road upto the hotel is very dark as there are no lights on the way hence there is no other option but to take the shuttle to go to the main street...

At the end, thanks to the resort for making our honeymoon so memorable!!! I would love to visit again....:)

We spent 4 nights at this hotel and it brought out an air of cynicism in both of us. We checked in around 8.30pm following a late flight into Krabi. We were keen to head into Ao Nang and saw that the hotel offered a shuttle at 9pm. It took over 20 minutes and a call to reception for our bags to come to our room, so it felt a little like they were hoping to charge us. There is a list of prices for literally everything in the room, 'should you wish to keep', including the signs encouraging you to be environmental!! Positives were the beautiful setting, cheap mini bar and a regular shuttle to ao nang, with a cheap tuk tuk home (circa 80 baht). Negatives were very few sun beds around the pool, expensive and sub standard outdoor hotel spa (we headed to the beach for our massages - also outside but for a quarter of the price), rubbish breakfast (left outside to get warm and limited choice) and disinterested staff (nobody asked if we had a pleasant stay on check out and staff barely spoke). It's a shame really as the hotel has potential, if a few things could be fixed.

Dear Valued Guests;

It's possible that on that day, we lack of people made a bit of awaiting time for the luggages to arrive in our guest's room. We assume what our guest mean about charging is from "taking the shuttle bus to the beach beyond 9 pm." that incur some charges. We, Aonang Phu Petra Resort, believe in our honesty to all of our guests that we have no trick to charge them. If it will be charged, it suppose to come from the resort's policy that we previously informed to our guests. If the delay of luggages come from our mistake, they can of course inform at reception counter and we will surely take them to our parking destination without any charges.

Due to the same reason of lacking of our staff, an unpleasant checking out procedure happen from the newest staff. We apologize for unprofessional way to treat to our guest. We, at this time, did train them to serve our guests to the best of our hospitality.

We are the boutique resort with only 25 villas with fitting and suitable size of swimming pool; it causes some uncomfors if too much sun lounger are put around the pool. However, we have a spare of sun loungers for our guests if asked for or if it appears to be more numbers of our guests want to spend time at the swimming pool.

For limited choice of breakfast, we will bring this one to our discussion to make it more varieties of choices for our guests. However, we must say that the preferences depends on each of our guest's attitude that honestly, many of our guests have no complaints of breakfast.

We don't mean to make any excuses; definitely, we will seriously bring every issues our guests commented into our serious discussion. We just need a room for our side of explanation. We promise for our further improvement and development to deliver valuable experience to all of our guests.

We booked our room (half of a small house) about two weeks before our arrival with an online travel agency and still got very reasonable prices (less than 100€ per night, incl. breakfast).
Once arrived at Krabi airport the hotel staff already awaited us with a shuttle (600 bath, which was just slightly above normal taxi tarifs). When entering the resort the entire staff was extremely friendly (and the hotel manager spoke good English).
The rooms were really big - we had two beds where one was king-size single and one double in one room - and the bathroom also really big and beautiful.
When seeing the gardens and the mountain in the morning we were really stunned!! A most beautiful and quiet garden area around the ~15 small houses, where every plant has a name sign and the wonderful pool with sufficient space and also beautiful ambience. And behind the area the jungle mountain cliff rises majestically and in the morning you can even hear some apes cry...

The service was perfect - from the management to the pool ladies and restaurant everyone was extremely friendly and smiley - you could see that the work conditions in this resort are alright!

Even for organizing trips or travel the counter helped us to arrange everything on short term - much more secure and less stressy than booking with those guys in downtown ao nang who want to sell their trips by all means...

Overall this week was the most relaxing part of our travel and the Phu Petra resort was the perfect place to stay!!

The owners of this hotel have obviously spent a lot of money on the build and design of this resort with a succesful outcome in the structural appearance. Dissapointingly it is the interior design of the rooms and hotel and which leave much to be desired. For example, the bedrooms although very large have the most terrible lighting and austere finish with very poor uncomfortable beds and couch, the rooms looked dingy and not quite clean. The same austere finish permeates through to the interior of the hotel, there is no sense of luxury about this place, it is just functional with no attention to detail, and no pride given to the cleanliness or presentation of anything. Breakfasts were terrible everything was substandard as if they had bought the cheapest produce possible. The most incredible thing was when I was confronted with a hand towel at reception, they said they couldn't launder it. It had a smear of makeup which if washed properly would have easily been removed. I realise after reading other reviews this has happened before to other guests. All in all a lovely setting spoiled by inattetion to detail.

We thank you for your compliments on our design and structural apperance. Due to our difficulty in searching for professional labour at that moment; we must accept for unprofessionalism in some parts of our service delivered to some of our guests. For the cleanliness, we are sure we give this the top pride to our guests. We accept for not 100% perfection in our service delivered to you at that time. Due to our almost fully booked together with our lacking of staff, we must recruit some newest staff to fulfill the needs of serving to all of our guests.

For terrible lighting made it difficult for reading, we promise to make a change...but please understand us that we can do only during low season due to its recovering of the whole engineering system.

A sense of unluxury and the same austere finish permeates the inteiror of the hotel, franakly, it depends on each of our guests' attitude that more than 80% of our guests have no complaints in this area.

As I found out what really happened upon our guests'checked out procedure, we are sure our staff did not mean to charge the guests; they asked for the source of mark on hand towel for the best way to wash it. As the guests stated this happen to other guests before, please understand that the charges of mark on towels is due to the resort's policy. We are now adjusted that policy as we received the negative feeling from our guests about the matter before.....but please understand we have no intention to insult our guests from asking the source of mark or from the charges on dirty towels.

We believe in our highest honesty, faith and pride we give to all of our guest. In every case when we note the complaints from our guests during their staying in the resort, we are prompt at our fastest manner to solve it except, in some cases, we really have no idea for that the acknowledgement of the problem is declared when guests left the property already.

We do care all of our guests and put our attention in every single detail. Sometimes we can fix it; however, sometimes we do need a time to adjust the things to make it fit for all of our guests' needs. We listen to you.

We try hard to make Aonang Phu Petra Resort a pleasant and relaxing place for our guests. We trained people developed every function continuously to deliver the value experience to all of our guests.
