“The Jolly Thresher Pub & Restaurant is a Joy in Lymm Cheshire”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

Yes! a joy in Lymm, I am pleased to say that I have found my very own local pub with great food, Drink & Service with a big smile.

What more could you ask for if it's high quality Pub food & drink you are looking for in Lymm, Cheshire why look any further it's a great place to go to for great food without feeling you have to dress up, as the staff know I will often be seen dining here. Keep up the good work and don't slip like other establishment have. Keep a tight eye on portion and price control as customers want quality and value above all else. Well done!

Oh! and be sure to book at weekends as even I have struggled to get a table at the last minute.

Dear Andrew R,

Many thanks for taking the time to write a review for us - it's nice to be getting regular diners returnin over and over again.

We try very hard to ensure that every customer is happy and listen to all comments made. We feel that this is so important and we've made very successful changes following customer feedback.

We always recommend booking as even now, after 6 months, we cannot guarantee a table without a reservation. Some sessions are very busy!

We hope to continue seeing lots of you!

Kind regards

“Introduced to this gem whilst staying with friends”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2013

We have life-long friends that live in Cheshire. On our recent weekend stay we went to Lymm for their festival and passed this pub on the outward journey to be told we would be eating lunch there.

From the roadside it is not the most attracive, but do not be put off. The parking is limited to the front straight off a busy road, but there is ample to the side.

If you enter from the front you approach the bar, and to the left indoor seating which has multiple-folding doors to an oasis of outdoor space and dining. What a glorious spacious totally elegantly decorated establishment. Even the conveniences were of high standard with tasteful quality hand wahing products, wish more places lived up to such a high standard.

There were four of us having lunch and we chose to sit outside as on this particular day it was 25 degrees. All the tables were spaced to allow "elbow room" and dotted about a spacious patio area. One could also stroll to a lower level on the grassed area and we noted they had errected a huge Marque for a forthcoming beer festive.

Three of us ordered steak and onion baguette with hand cut chips, and the other had chicken. Freshly made to order so there was an acceptable wait, whilst we enjoyed ice cold shandies.

The chips came in steel buckets which were a novelty to us as we do not see this in Devon, but could catch on as it was a bit different. The steaks were cooked as ordered medium and just melted in the mouth, no chewy bits or endles fat. Needless to say the chicken was of equal standard. I am not partial to chips, but believe you me these were just too good not to try and to go back for more, We did not manage a pudding as these were generous lunch time meals.

We noted the menu to be varied and a vast choice and would most definately dine of an evening if we were to visit again. They did have a specials menu which i would presume would change possibly daily. All in all a gem of a place that has recently been refurbished, and what a great job they have done.

If you are travelling to this area it is well worth finding, and one may need to book, because once discovered will no doubt become extremely popular with both locals and visitors alike.

Dear Broganmc

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review for us.

We are very grateful for every comment made as we feel it's important to get feedback rom our customers of where we are doing well and which areas may need more work.

We have recently had a refurbishment (we reopened in February under new management) and we are very pleased with the look of it. Our outside area is especially popular when the elusive sun shines!!

Our chip buckets have become quite a talking point, as have our vintage china & loose leaf teas. We're always looking for ways to improve our dishes and will often trial new meals on our Specials first to see how popular they are as well as always having a fabulous selection of fish (todays fish are plaice, bream & seabass). We're passionate about introducin people to new dishes while still having our home favourites such as Fish & Chips, 21 day ages steaks & steak & ale pie.

We always recommend booking as we do get very busy.

We really hope that you'll be popping in again when you're this way (from Devon - what a trip).

Kind regards
