“Much better than expected, very good value for money.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2011

Just returned from a 3 night stay (6 adults) in a Silver Static Caravan at the Seaview Holiday Park (Park Holidays) near Whitstable.

Considering all of the reviews on here, we were very pleasantly surprised. We paid only £200 for 3 nights and this was a real bargain. The caravan was fairly new, very clean and well equipped.

Staff were friendly and helpful. The onsite shop was basic but reasonably priced.

The outdoor pool was lovely, clean & warm, but a wrist band system was in operation for a 45min session at a time. A bit annoying that you couldn't just turn up when you wanted but it made it fair for all.

The caravan itself had a double, a twin and a fold out double in the living area, quite comfortable really. Considering we were six adults it was not as cramped as expected.

Very close to the beach (just across a small green and over a high wall - so sea/beach cannot be seen from the caravan area of the park), pebbly beach but swam in the sea which appeared pretty clean.

Big sainsburys, KFC and McDonalds just a couple of minutes drive away from the site.

Room Tip: Ring up and negotiate advertised prices on website, you may get a better deal.

We have a static van on this site, and for the last 2 years we have the DIGGERLAND experience for free, every single morning, the Gardner starts his tractor up and promptly races round the one way system! at 7.55 Next come the Bigger Tractors they are the ones that race around accelerating over the speed bumps to collect the rubbish bins, why on earth do the bins need to be emptied at this unearthly hour! You don't see a Gardner a bin man or anyone else around the park all day, I
Told however all men work a full day during peak season.

Complain to the management people say, I have on numerous occasions but he is just not interested. He tells me that the bins have to be emptied early daily because of Foxes!!!! I've been on this site from a child, I'm now 48 and I have never seen a fox.... It's all bad management! Hip hip hooray Im told the site managers leaving, at the end of the season. About time too, maybe we can have someone who has a bit of respect for the people who contribute to his wages! all the current manager is interested in is drinking it up at the so called Entertainment Centre, the place where low rated stars appear! And where the drinks vary in price depending on who serves you, Buyers beware don't buy a caravan here you will only live to regret it! Like I have .....

Have been using this campsite for a number of years as a base. Good, even and well sized pitches, the facilities are OK and there is plenty for the kids to do. In fact, it's very good for kids... you don't need to worry about a little exploration. The problem is that increasingly the lack of respect shown by other campers. Dance music starts as early as 10am and goes on into the early hours. It's not everyone but equally it is a large enough number for you to feel as though you are walking through a multi-themed night club. When did a tent become an alternative night club?

We visited Seaview in May,2011 for 7 days holiday.
The caravan was new, clean and very comfortable.I can`t complain about the accomodation at all. The park facilities simply don`t exit, no entertainment.
The worst part was the staff.
One young couple who work there used to babysit their daughter while both of them were on duty.
The bar staff don`t give receipts when you buy anything from the bar and then charge you different prices for the same items from the kitchen. They charged me the same price for chips basket and chips bucket, and the size of the bucket is half.It happened everytime when my parents will order and their english is poor. The staff took advantage a few times to charge my parents twice or double the price and when i asked for the receipt after that ,they were shouting that they don`t give receipts unless requested.
The women who sell in the shop on the site did "mistakes" twice accidentially, for 3 and 11 pounds.
I believe that these people are underpaid but it`s still unacceptable when they try to compensate by cheating the customers.

Location is great being yards from the pebbly beach at Swalecliffe and walkable to Herne Bay or Whitstable either way. There is a great warm and clean outside pool with kids pool that is a great big positive for this site. Showers and toilet blocks reasonably clean during our stay but no better than average

Big minuses is the lack of supervision and warden control especially at night when there were serious noise problems all night long with drunk underage teenagers having been left in a caravan apparently unsupervised. Worst of all this apparently wasn't first weekend this had happened in the same caravan. No on site security after reception has closed at 6 or 7 until 9pm and because of this bar staff when we approached them called the police due to the nature of the problems we and others were reporting. We considered packing up at that point and going home early due to the issues and worried about safety
Emailed feedback on this to Park Holidays but predictably no reply - won't use them again and will continue to tell everyone we know. Why do companies do this with feedback - its such an easy thing to sort out!.

Other minuses are the large static areas being constructed right behind the camping field. Decent sized pitches but very open and no hedging or marking apart from line on ground.
Decent enough on site shop and bar/restauarant/entertainment area is Ok if you like that sort of thing. Arcade and small play areas for children Ok at best

Shame because the location could be good

We have just returned from a trip to this site and stayed in a Silver Static Caravan through Park Holidays.
The standard of accommodation was excellent - clean and spacious which was a relief after having stayed in a pretty shabby and grubby caravan on another Park Holidays site (Coghurst Hall).
We took our 4 month old baby and the site was perfect for him - nice and quiet with friendly people in the other vans. He also enjoyed his first visit to a swimming pool and happily splashed around in the half metre deep baby/kids pool.
The location was also brilliant - you can walk with a buggy to both Whitstable and Herne Bay (about 2.5 miles) and it is by the sea all the way. We also walked from Broadstairs to Ramsgate with the buggy so it is ideal if you want days out in the sunshine without it costing anything!
We also visited Canterbury on our way home which is lovely for a stroll around with plenty of cafe's, shops, old buildings (and the cathedral of course!).
There is a big Sainsburys and Tesco about 1 mile from the site so perfect for stocking up before you arrive as well as a shop on-site for any forgotten essentials.
All in all we could not have asked for more from this holiday - great site in a great location that is perfect if you are looking for relaxation and great sea walks.

(just signed up to tripadvisor hence the late review)

We stayed last september for 3 nights at a price of £142 plus £100 extra for half board for 2 adults and 1 child. Which is a little excessive given the quality of the food. The breakfasts were good but we could not eat anything else as it was very poor. Having said that we were told as it was late season it wasnt up to its usual standards. We travelled by train and the park was about 15 mins walk from the station, which if you need a local shop (other than the parks shop) that is also where the nearest one is.(supermarket nearby but probably need a short taxi ride)

The caravan was a Bronze Plus caravan and was of a higher quality than Havens Prestige caravans (which we had stayed in before). It was immaculate, very spacious and generally looked newer again in comparison to Haven prestige caravans. The equiptment inside was great and the caravan had a decked area with some furniture and a bbq. The site was very tidy and clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It was also quiet (probably due to late season) and we experienced no noise from the clubhouse area at nighttime. As it was quiet there was some evening entertainment but we only stayed for that on the last night and it was Bingo which everyone seemed to enjoy. The bar was very reasonably priced.

The outiside pool was small but clean and well supervised.

The location was right in between Whitstable and Herne Bay and the park had direct access to the beach (pebbled beach) and coastal path walk, about 30 minutes walk to each. There was little to do at Whitstable with children, Herne Bay had some amusements but in all probably not the best of seaside locations.

In all it was a lovely park with good facilities and great if you want some peace and quiet. Staff were great. Nice area for walks by the sea
