“Wonderfully a nice package!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

Nice old school feeling, reasonable and good breakfast! The onlooking golf view was stupendous and serene. Service was friendly and extremely homey. Maybe because it was off peak season, surrounding was peaceful even if we were next to the main road!

Hotel is located well, with no noise nearby other than the traffic noise which isn't much.

Staff are okay, pleasant enough but not very involved.

Rooms are enormous and nicely decorated. Beds however are very hard and the provided pillows are (believe it or not) inflatable, which I found hard to sleep on.

Rooms come with a good sized bath and shower combo.

Balcony area is big as well and is nice for sitting having a beer.

Wifi was good and strong.

Breakfast buffet was good, nothing amazing though.

Overall an alright place to stay if you can handle the hard bed.

Room Tip: Higher floors would have less traffic noise, which is why it wasn't an issue for us but was for...

It was a pleasant drive and strategic location for drivers, since its my first time to C.Highlands. Its out of town where its not busy, took 5 mins drive to hotspots. Secured parking area and nice hospitality. The best when stayed here is the food, steamboat diner and varieties for breakfast is truly amazing. My wife n myself enjoyed the most. Not to mention of the golf view is truly amazing. P/S But dont be fooled by the ad pics. Nice place to stay for family.

Room Tip: Suggest to take garden view if looking for quiet night.

Lovely big rooms.
Great view over golf course and hills.
Road noise not bad at all, especially if you shut all windows at night.
Good breakfast.
Good position near golf course and Smokehouse. Easy and pleasant walk to Tanah Rata.
Free wifi in rooms
Check-in and check-out both very quick.
BUT
Check-in and check-out quite cold and unhelpful.
Housekeeping standards a bit hit and miss.
Service quite patchy - eg took ages to acquire an extra glass and an extra towel.
Restaurant stuck in an Eighties (pink) timewarp, which was OK for breakfast but weird for dinner. The dishes we had were so-so. We ate there the first of three nights. The next two nights we ate at a Chinese restaurant in Tanah Rata.

After a 2 hour journey climbing all the time around double bends arrived at the hotel which is easily located on the main road.no one came out to see if we wanted any help with the luggage as there is about six steep steps to lift your luggage up so had to do it ourselves and was then greeted at reception with a very unfriendly looking staff, We were given a room and they watched me struggling with the luggage into the lift, The room was located in the back of the hotel overlooking a untidy patch of garden and no sun ever got into the room so it was quite cold and at night it got even colder had to ask for another blanket or the bed.The bathroom was clean but had large bath init and plenty of hot water the door was a bit awkward as it see open inwards and didnt leave much room to go in as the sink stuck out in the room, the house girl changed the towel but forgot the floor towel which was soaking wet, the water on the floor made it cold to walk into the bathroom. The next morning went to breakfast which was not too bad but was served by a guy who was not used to serving people. Day 2 the usual girl was there and her service was a bit better, breakfast was a choice from a menu and was cooked reasonably well and was hot (hoorrah Malaysians dont like hot hot food) I dont mean SPICY. Checkout had to struggle with the bags again and very miserable faces behind reception especially the Malay girl, dont know wether i would go back to the hotel, the front of it overlooks the Golf Course which is good view and is central to the 2 towns

Room Tip: ask for a golf course room

Large clean and comfortable room with garden view so quiet as more expensive rooms with golf course views are on busy road. Helpful staff and good breakfast buffet. 5 minute walk from Old Smokehouse and ten minute taxi ride from Tanah Rata.

Room Tip: Garden view rooms are quietest.

I expected the hotel to be better when I booked and thought it would feel more British than it turned out to.

No help with baggage was offered when we arrived. A cold receptionist checked us in without a smile. The room was on second floor. The room was spacious and the bed was in particular huge. Despite that the other facilities in the room were not too good. The kettle was broken and water leaked from it. Since there is no A/C (the climate on Cameron Highlands explains that), windows had to be always open for ventilation but then mosquitoes flew in. The traffic outside was very loud throughout the night and would be a big problem for some sleepers like me, who won't fall asleep unless there is complete silence.

The breakfast was by order and fine.

Overall, the hotel and the room did not feel too comfortable to me - a bit shabby indeed. I only stayed for one night. If I were to stay longer, I would have chosen the Cameron Highlands Resort.
