“Amazing view of green and scenic highlands!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2011

Me and my boyfriend spent three nights in a superior room at this hotel. We recommend to book a superior room on a higher floor in the new wing. Then one can enjoy an impressive view of the green scenery, relaxing stillness, the singing of the birds and a magnificent sunrise:)
The room was impressively spacious, with a big bathroom and many amenities available. The hotel is located a short walk from Tanah Rata city center, with easy access to everything. The hotel is huge, with many facilities and entertainment options available. The only downside from our point of view was the breakfast, which catered more for Chinese taste than for European, and the food variety was a bit limited.

Stayed here for 2 nights and really enjoyed our time. We arrived early (12pm) and despite the sign saying check-in at 3pm we were checked straight in.

We booked the new section based on Trip Advisor reviews and were not disappointed. the room was huge! Very new, clean and nicely furnished.

My wife loved the fact that there was no aircon, just a ceiling fan, there is no need for aircon up there as its cool mountain breezes.

The room had a great view from the little balcony.

The hotel breakfast was huge, and had a wide variety of selections.

The hotel arranged a tour for us and this was very helpful, they also booked the bus back to KL and arranged a free pickup from the hotel into Tanah Rata to get the bus, for no extra cost!

The hotel nice looking cafe, however I never did see anyone in it, it also had a great library which I used a bit for its extensive magazine collection.

The hotel is a little walk from the centre of Tanah Rata (5-10 minutes), but we found it a pleasant easy walk, but if your not in the mood the taxi's are cheap at about RM10.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Heritage and would have problems in recommending.

We booked the room without knowing that there are the old and the new section. First we were situated in the old section, but have immediately moved to the new part. The price difference is small especially compared with the totally different experience that you will have. In particular if you intend to do some heavy trekking and enjoy to relay afterwards, you will definitely enjoy the newly opened part of the hotel - great spacious rooms, clean bathroom, all the amenities... In sum, all that is required to thoroughly enjoy the fantastic Cameron Highlands...

The hotel is far away from the busy towns and it offers a very comfortable and quiet environment. One can have a good evening walk (about 10 minutes) to Tanah Rata town for dinner.

We stayed in a deluxe room in new wing with extra bed. The size is not as big as we expected, but just enough to cater for one extra bed, not much space left. Cleanliness is ok except for the smelly carpet which seems not been properly cleaned for a long time.

The worst experience we had was about the billing. The staffs seem not properly trained or well informed about the room rate. We called in several times before the booking for 3 nights stay on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, and each time we were told different rate by different staff. The main issue was the rate on Sunday. Some would quote higher rate as the rate on Saturday. When we arrived, we were told again another rate. The worst was when we checked out, we were overcharged by RM160! Luckily we did our own calculation and know roughly how much we were supposed to pay. So, if you choose to stay in the hotel, be careful on the bill. If you stay on Sunday night, the rate should be the normal rate as the rate on normal week day.

The deluxe room is a real value for $$$.

Good facilities, clean rooms & fairly friendly staffs.

Will certainly come back again!

Room Tip: Deluxe Room- Value for $$$

We stayed for 5 days in Heritage hotel in the new wing. As soon as we entered the room, it smelled damp so we left the windows open to let the fresh air in. There was a fan but it couldn't be adjusted it was either on or off. There were many stains on the carpet and the mattress was hard. The bathroom was clean and reasonably big with a tub and separate shower . The quilt was filthy and it didn't has been change for a long time. We called the housekeeping tot bring a clean one it took over an hour before it was delivered. They served exactly the same food every day and they couldn't to refill the orange juice cereal when it ran out. When we asked for more they said there was none left and expect us to eat cornflake dust! The ran out by the restaurant I asked for it to be replace but the waiter asked me to go to the another by the lounge. What kind of 4 star hotel is that?
The hotel is in a peaceful location where you can hear bird singing in the morning but the service in the hotel is terrible! Would I stay there again? Yes if they reduce their price.
