It has been many years that we have been to CH. After reading many reviews, we decided to try out Hotel De La Fern. As the traffic was very bad on our way up, we arrived the hotel very late.

Upon check in, the Front Office officer informed us that there was only 1 deluxe quad room left on the ground level. I enquired about the family suite which he had kindly showed us. After much consideration, we decided to stick to the quad room as there was also only 1 bathroom. Upon entering the quad room, I went straight to open up the window (it was very stuffy). To my horror, the room was located next to a room with a steel green door which the hotel had claimed to be a kitchen. It was extremely noisy! We knew that it is impossible to stay in such room as we will definitely need to keep the windows open as all rooms are non air-conditioned. We went to the front desk and requested for a room change or to upgrade to the family suite at a better discounted rate. It was also then that we found out that the room which we were assigned to was normally unoccupied/ unsold. As such, I felt that it was unfair for us to accept that kind of room. After a bit of argument with the staff, he finally got us a deluxe quad on the 2nd level.

We were trying to settle down when my husband spotted some leftover peanuts on the carpet. The next thing which we had noticed was, bed linens were crinkled and one of the pillow smells. The bathroom was wet even before we could use it. That was it! I marched down to the Front Office to make a complaint. I showed the hotel manager the photo which I had taken of the leftover peanuts and the crinkled linens. He followed me promptly to the room and got the housekeeping up to clean up our room.

The hotel apologized and offered to change us to another room. About 30mins later, the hotel manager returned and took us to another room at the same level. The new room was much better than the quad room. The king size bed was separated from the twin beds by a sliding door and it came with a balcony as well. However, comparing other hotels which we had stayed in Malaysia, the room is considered too small for 1 king sized bed and 2 twins beds. The room was meant to be occupied by 4 adults but yet, there is only 1 bathroom. The bathroom is not the worst that I have seen but still, it did not make me feel like I am staying in a hotel. I realized that the hotel is also very "open". If we had stayed in the ground level, security would definitely a question mark.

As for the breakfast, variety and quality was just average. I also realized that the food in CH was quite salty which somehow contradict eating the fresh and healthy vegetables that are locally grown.

To summarize our overall experience, we would probably not return to the hotel again. If you are planning for the trip during mid of the year, I would recommend to stay in a hotel on the higher land such as the Strawberry Park Resort. Avoid going during June holidays as CH is packed with tourists and the weather was definitely not cool even at night.

Room Tip: Avoid selecting rooms on the ground level.

Completely Worth the trip, Surprisingly a clean Hotel & excellent hospitality which usually lacks in Malaysia. Very good Restaurant too, Had the best Beef Stake & really good Steam Boat. Recommended to All.

Room Tip: Face the Golf Course. Main Road facing could get a lil noisy.

We went to stay at the De' LA Ferns hotel on the 28th to 30th of April. This was the second time we are there. It didn't disappoint us! We book a family suite. The room was spacious with a huge bathroom! There is a living hall and the room was saperated.

Its very suitable for me, my wife, my baby and my in-laws to stay there. The location is very good coz it in the middle of Brinchang and Tanah Rata. The only draw back is that is facing the road so it is quite noisy. Breakfast is ok but not much of a variety.

All in all it was a good stay and we will definately go back if we go to Cameron Highland again.

The overall staff are very courteous. The room is nice and clean. The environment is very good as it's close to nature and most of the room are facing the jungle. Since Cameron Highland is a cool place, the room doesn't equip with air conditioner, therefore you might feel a bit warm in the room for certain day in the afternoon. You may need to open your windows to let the cool wind to come in. Staying in the higher floor will be better to avoid hearing car moving sound from outside.

The location of this hotel is very good as it's on the middle path to all the attractions in Cameron. One setback for this hotel is that the breakfast has a very limited choice of food. However it's still not too bad after all.

Room Tip: Stay in higher floor and choose those facing the side of the hotel.

We checked in late and there was only one room deluxe king sized room left. The receptionist asked if we would like to have a look at it. We were tired so we just went in our room.
It was a corner room. It looked weird and kinda of dark. View from window wasn't really good.
So, I went to the lobby and asked if we could change the room. They offered to show us the rooms . One comes with the golf view, another one with the country view. To be honest nothing much about the country view. Golf view was so much better. The service was good.

Only problem with the hotel is there is no fan or air-conditioner in the room. We know that the weather is pretty cold at night. Most of the hotels in Cameron Highlands do not have fan or air-cond in their rooms. But it gets pretty stuffy in the room at night. So we had to open our balcony door and windows. Unfortunately, there was a party group next to our room. It was quite noisy.

Overall, it was good and I would like to go back to this hotel.

Room Tip: Choose rooms with gold view.
