“Best b&b experience ever!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2012 via mobile

We visited bath for the christmas markets and stayed at the riverside inn. We had a fantastic time. Not only was the room clean, tidy and well equip but warm and cosy with a beautiful view of the river, boats and surrounding countryside but the breakfast was excellent. My son had cereal while my husband and I dined on the 'cafe breakfast'. The service was efficient and polite throughout our experience, making it a great escape from the busy shopping days we spent in the city. Thank you to the staff for making our weekend great! Highly recommend to family's and couples alike! See you again, same time next year!!!!

Had a long trip behind us but the young man in reception was very helpful and took his time to answer my endless row of questions very patiently and professionally.
Had my tea in their upstairs restaurant. Was rather busy but all the staff stayed calm and approachable. I think a nice blond girl made it her mission of the night to make us feel like royalty.
The room was very cozy and clean, which I apreciated the most. Furniture was simple but very comfotable.
Woke up to an amazing view of the river just a stone's throw away! The lady serving breakfast was, again, very firendly and talkative. Had a nice conversation and the breakfast was absolutely gorgeous! To put so much effort into the presentation of french toast!
Had a great experience, already planning my next stay in the area and definately in The Riverside Inn!

Room Tip: Room 1 has plenty of space, a really comfy bed and free WiFi.

Overnight stay which include breakfast costs £100, very overrated. TV did not work, insufficient coffee/tea facilities in the room, no hairdryer.Unable to balcony declared unsafe. Breakfast was one option off the standard menu, no cereals, fruit available. It appears owners are making on the location certainly the worst we stayed in a long time. Complained but got us nowhere wished we had stayed in Bath. Need to buck up!

Room Tip: Avoid the Riverside

We went to the Riverside Inn with my parents for 2 nights, it was beautiful and very pleasant. The view of the river and the boats was amazing, the food (sort of pub food, but there is a Grill as well) was very good and affordable, the staff was very nice. All in all i've been literally enchanted in this great location and I really can't wait to go back ! :)

Room Tip: the family rooms are quieter because they are at the back, but the family suite was lovely too !

The Radiator in the room could not be turned off so unable to sleep because of the heat. Furniture old cheap and 4th rate and no comfort at all in the room. Food was average as was the service but very poor valus for money

Room Tip: Don't stay there

To compare this establishment with Faulty Towers would be unfair on Faulty Towers. We booked the newly refurbished penthouse!

When the guy opened the door to the staircase to the penthouse it was immidately obviouse that things were wrong. The stench of mold and damp was immidiately apparent. At the top of this staircase was the door to the penthouse balcony (with a notice on it saying "don't use the balcony it is unsafe"). You will get the idea when you see the photos. The room had not even been aired and also smelt musty; the fact that the heating did not work did'nt help. They knew the heating did not work as they had supplied an electric heater in case we needed it! The bed was a King sized matteres on a Superking frame leaving a 3" gap along both sides of the mattress. and the bathroom wash basin wasnt even secured to the wall. We went down to the restaraunt for something to eat; a steak is quite simple and this was the only thing that was acceptable (not good, just acceptable). We had to ask for drinking water for the room (remember this is the penthouse). Back in the room my girlfriend had to sleep in her cloths as the room was so cold. The wifi had a sighal in the bar but not in the room; they couldnt even get a wifi signal to the penthouse.

The final insult was probably the best! Breakfast, its the first time I have been asked for a supliment for an English Breakfast, girlfriends beagle was also stale and so hard she would have needed and Ice axe to break into it.

Room Tip: Go to another Hotel

Large and modern pub/restaurant/cafe operation in stunning and quiet location beside the canal. Excellent for walking and cycling. Cafe/bar area spacious and comfortable. Bedrooms clean and well equipped, if somewhat cheaply furnished. Noise from outside a problem until after closing time - don't expect an early night.
Food surprisingly good in the cafe - the chef's special lamb tagine excellent, and the veggie fry-up breakfast a treat. Breakfast food was included, but not drinks, so have to pay for coffee, tea, etc. Clientèle on the raucous side the night we stayed, with loud live music.
It's better than average but not quite very good.

Room Tip: Beware room 3 as bins right outside window and staff banging about until quite late.
