The Riverside Inn is now owned by the same guy who owns The Jolly Sailor and he's turning it around. I used to be awful but now it's really pretty good. Simple food well made. I had the burger which was proper home made and severed on a slightly pretentious slate. That said it was a damn good burger.
Outside is a huge amount of space, next to the Avon and a Marina. They have recently added a large kid play area too. Lots of space to sit outside. They do a Carveary upstairs which is not my thing but seems very busy especially for the bargain hunters.
Staff are well trained and polite and it's even got a bit of an atmosphere too. I've also been back for breakfast which was also good and they have free WiFi so I might use it for casual meetings.
