“Exceptional Stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

Had the pleasure of staying at Tigh-a-Ghlinne last night with my partner for a wee overnight in the Highlands. Could NOT have picked a better B&B. Tigh-a-Ghlinne is outside Fort William, but it's literally a 10 minute drive from the center and the view is beautiful. We usually tend not to stay at B&B's as you are never too sure of whom you're staying with, but Stevie & Alan were brilliant hosts. Couldn't have done enough to make us comfortable, and we were also one of the lucky "3 or 4 couples" who have been able to dine outside for our lovely breakfast and enjoy the sunshine and the breathtaking views from the back garden! They really are such a lovely and lucky couple to have that view all the time :) we are already excitedly planning our 2nd trip to the area, with our overnight being booked at Tigh-a-Ghlinne, obviously!!! Thanks again to Stevie & Alan, you were fantastic hosts and we can't wait to bring our wee dog next time :)

Just back from a short trip to Loch Shiel and we had an overnight stay in this wonderful B&B. Alan and Stevie are excellent hosts; very welcoming and helpful - wonderful rooms and superb breakfast. Views are breathtaking. We are already planning another trip for next year. A real find!!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a wedding in May. We couldn't have picked a more perfect place to stay. The B & B was beautiful, in a fantastic location and had everything we wanted.
However it was owners Stevie & Allan that made our stay so enjoyable. They were so welcoming and became our new friends during our time in Fort William. Anytime we venture up north again we know where we will be staying. For anyone looking for a cute B&B in the highlands I couldn't recommend Tigh-a-Ghlinne more.
Thankyou Stevie & Allan
and of course Danny xxxx

We arrived here to a lovely warm welcome from Alan, Stevie and their dog Danny, after a drive up from Carlisle. We were shown to a lovely room with fabulous views over the gorgeous garden down to the Caledonian canal and over to the Ben Nevis range. Our dog Jet was welcomed and promptly went to play rough with Danny in the garden, whilst Stevie made us a cup of tea and we sat on their deck taking in the fabulous view. This place felt like home from home. Stevie and Alan's breakfasts are brilliant, with eggs from their own hens. We enjoyed using the guest lounge but the views are so good we never bothered with the TV the whole time we were there. After climbing Ben Nevis, the wonderful shower in our room was very welcome and lovely and hot. It would be worth that long drive to Fort William just to stay there again. Can't praise it high enough.

We stayed here for one night before embarking on a week long boat hire on the Caledonian Canal. This is a fantastic B&B with lovely hosts who made us feel very welcome. We had the front facing room, so sadly no mountain view, but the view to the rear is lovely and we enjoyed watching the birds on the feeder. The lounge has a lovely view of Ben Nevis. The room was a bit smaller than many we have stayed in but it was warm and cosy and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was amazing with probably the best fruit salad I have ever had. We enjoyed our stay so much that we tried to book again for when we came off the boat but the day was fully booked.

Thank you for your very kind and positive review. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay, and it's a shame you couldn't book for another night on your return. Another time, perhaps.

We were here just one night. It was fantastic. The B&B is wonderfull. The hosts were very atentive and kind. The room was very nice and very clean. They have a nice garden and it ist by the Caledonian canal. So you can sometimes see the boats pass. I definitly will have a look at it again if I go back.

This has to be as good as it gets - In terms of location, facilities and the owners Alan and Stevie, we are both of the same view.
Firstly, the location - The house and garden overlook the Caledonian Canal, with Ben Nevis completing the stunning views. Spent a very happy hour relaxing in the garden with coffee.
Facilities - The room was very clean, well equipped and tastefully decorated.
The owners Alan and Stevie were both very welcoming and helpful with nothing being too much trouble.
The breakfast was simply superb. Starting with a very large bowl of fresh fruit followed by a well cooked and tasty hot selection.
This sets the standard by which all others will be judged.
