“Good standard for a 4 star”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013 via mobile

We had a nice room spacious with a seating area - good toiletries robes and slippers all very 5 star. The restaurant was good food good quality and very high quality service. Gave the evening a sense of glamour - guests were dressed for dinner which I like. The reception area was a bit of a mismatch to the other areas and didn't give great first impression. The lounge was lovely good high tea. Overall I would say impressive.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your review, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. We do really feel like it is the little details that make a stay special, and are delighted that this was the case.
Our Oak Room is a fine dining restaurant, where guests dress for a dining experience – it is great to hear that you enjoyed the menu and appreciated the service. We are very proud of our team.
In the past year we have made a number of refurbishments to the hotel, bringing it up to date whilst maintaining the Georgian Elegance. The reception area is one of the next areas we are hoping to refurbish, and hopefully this will be completed on your return to Burnham Beeches Hotel.
Many thanks once again.
Yours Truly,

I stayed here with my wife on our wedding anniversary last Saturday and we had a very enjoyable stay. Arrival to departure everything was very smooth. Staff is very friendly and professional, Credit to management its clearly evident that they care about their staff because they all looked very happy and proud.Been a International hotel consultant I could not find a fault. Room was spotless, breakfast was delicious and the beautiful hotel ground was maintained to a very high standard.
We will definitely come back, lovely hotel/staff.

We booked a two night break at the hotel via the secret escapes website which included an overnight stay with a 5 course dinner with wine.
This was a fantastic deal and great value for money hence why we booked.
Upon arrival we were welcomed into the hotel by a very friendly receptionist. Unfortunately our room was not ready as we had arrived early so we waited in the bar.
We opted to pay £20 to upgrade our room to a Georgian room overlooking the front gardens. The room itself was great with lots of character and was exactly what we were looking for, for our stay.
We decided to use the spa facilities which were clean but albeit a bit on the small side.
We booked our table for 7.30 at reception when we checked in. As we arrived at the restaurant it was beautifully laid out however we felt our table was very close to another couple meaning we had to stop our conversation when they stopped theirs!!
When our food arrived it was displayed magnificently and tasted delicious! All of the courses were well cooked and I could easily have eaten more of each.
We then retired to bed only for the fire alarm to go off at 3am with a full evacuation having to take place! Of course this couldn't be helped although it was very inconvenient.
Breakfast the following morning was absolute chaos. With the alarm going off everyone in the hotel obviously decided to have a lie in. We came down for breakfast at 8.45am to a quiet restaurant then before you knew it there were hoards of people arriving! It was very clear from the start that they were clearly understaffed. I also tried to order boiled eggs with the waiter who unfortunately did not speak English and had to get his manager to take our order which was very annoying as she was busy seating other guests and we had to wait for her to finish this before she could take our order.
This hotel has the potential to be fantastic, but unfortunately due to our recent stay we will not be returning to experience it.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your review.
We are very pleased to hear that you felt you got a good deal, and that you appreciated the Georgian Style Superior Room. We are very sorry that your stay was disturbed by the fire alarm. This is unfortunately outside the hotel’s control, but we are disappointed to hear that it affected your stay. Your comments regarding the breakfast staff have been taken on board, and addressed accordingly.
We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your evening meal in the restaurant. We change our menus seasonally and hope that perhaps you would reconsider, and visit again.
Yours Truly,

4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013 via mobile

We're travelling from the midlands to Brighton and needed an overnight stop near Slough to visit family and take them out for a birthday meal treat. We don't know this area at all and I found it very difficult to find anywhere that would give us the combination of good but basic overnight accommodation + a good place for the birthday meal. Burnham Beeches (BB) was too high class for the type of meal we were looking for on this occasion; so our relative recommended a good local pub restaurant nearby (it was excellent) and I plumped for BB to sleep because I couldnt find anywhere that seemed to offer what we needed in the area. Unfortunately this meant we didn't arrive at BB until about 11 pm and we were tired and hot. We do like our windows open all night and as I had requested a room with a walk in shower (as opposed to one over the bath, which my husband finds difficulty accessing) the only such room available at the time of my late booking, was downstairs. When we went to open the windows, we saw that we were surrounded by tall shrubs & trees and didn't therefore feel safe leaving them open all night : there was an air con unit that we used, but it was inevitably noisy (I know -cant please some people!- but this is how it was). Breakfast next morning was very good, but we didn't really like the help yourself hot buffet; although good food, it would have been so much nicer to have been offered the option to be served.
One factor which I do think deserves criticism, was that there was no mini bar in the room and not even complimentary bottles of water. Arriving so late, and having been on the go since early morning, we would have appreciated these being available . However, the setting is lovely and the staff were all very professional yet friendly, which is ideal. Overall, with so little time there, it wasn't the best place for us that night. Moral of story I guess is along the lines of 'horses for courses'

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your review. We hope you and your family enjoyed the birthday celebrations.
We are sorry to hear that you felt the hotel was not right for you on this occasion.
All of our bedrooms feature fantastic power showers – some walk-in and some over the bath, it is unfortunate that your late check in meant you were unable to change from a ground floor room, due to other suitable rooms being occupied.
We also have air conditioning in all of our Executive Bedrooms, and are sorry to hear that you felt this was a disturbance during the night.
We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your breakfast the following morning, and will certainly take on board your comments regarding the complimentary water in bedrooms.
Many thanks once again for your feedback. We do hope that we will welcome you back to Burnham Beeches Hotel in the future.

I stayed here with my friend a couple of months ago and had a lovely stay. The front office staff were great as were the restaurant staff and the food was excellent (except one small criticism is that in the afternoon my friend ordered scones from the bar which were tiny and not worth the money!!)

Nice leisure facilities but I would suggest some loungers or more chairs by the pool which would mean you could take a magasine or book down there and really relax.

Great conference space so perfect for business.

We travelled here as a family for a birthday weekend away and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. The staff at all times were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The evening meal was exquisite, with attention to detail throughout every course. Breakfast was also an amazing feast enjoyed by us all. The rooms were clean and comfortable, offering everything we needed.
The stay was amazing value with the special deal we had and we all left relaxed and content from the spa, food and ambience of this wonderful stay. We'd love to return.
Thank you so much!

From the warm welcome, when we arrived very late to equally attentive farewell on our departure everything and every body was just faultless. Splendid location, lovely room, great breakfast where everything was on hand and although last in both mornings we never felt rushed and the staff were attentive at all times. We will definitely stay here again.
