easily the worst stay during our visit to the western isles , involving nine separate overnight b & b accommodation. the bedroom had no tea making facilities, no chairs, no door lock, no shaver point and you have to pull a bed out to find an electrical socket , and then you require an extension lead to get close to a mirror. the wet & windy evening was spent with other guests ( communal not my thing ) huddled together to keep warm watching a tiny television. the real failure of sorrel cottage was the breakfast, porridge was a last minute request. the full scottish breakfast must contend for the least content breakfast in our experience, consisting of one fried egg ( no choice , it was fried ) , one rasher of bacon, half a tomatoe and one slice of toast. during preparation and serving of the breakfast the owners sheepdog continually jumped up against the worktops in the kitchen, which was clearly unhygienic. the final insult was the charge of £36.00 per person per night b & b. surely an overpriced amount , out of season for such a dull and dismal place with so few attributes.
