“So peaceful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2014

Had a weekend birthday break here in an excellent room with en suite. Mark is such a nice chap will do anything to make you feel at home. Cooks brilliant breakfast too. We did some clay shooting with him as well which was great fun. An all round very enjoyable stay so peaceful and quiet. Will be going back and would thoroughly recommend a visit.

Getting married brings lots of options for the wedding night and the honeymoon itself, almost every hotel is happy to have you to stay and often with a price to match.

We originally looked at a number of boutique hotels to stay in after our wedding but were put of not only by the price but also some of the extra costs such as corkage.

A few weeks before the wedding, my now wife, stumbled upon Rhandregynwen Hall on Laterooms and was immediately taken by the images and the character of the place. It's write up was well written and sounded perfect for our wedding night.

We knew with getting married that we would be arriving late and my wife phoned well in advance to note the occasion and our estimated arrival time. The very kind owner said he would happily put us in the best suite - which was half the price of most decent hotels - and would include a bottle of bubbly to help us celebrate our special day. Wonderful!

We arrived around 11:30pm having stopped off on the way and was greeted by the owner. He had provided ample directions and with a little adventurous spirit we soon found our way to Rhandregynwen Hall.

The owner was extremely courteous and happy to see us - always great and especially when a chirpy attitude just keeps the momentum of the day going.

he showed us to our room and I must say it is the most amazing place you will ever go! I could have moved in there and then! Lots or beautiful wood, a TV, huge bathroom and the most amazing bed :) We were feeling very blessed!

He had already laid on the bubbly for us and it was much appreciated!

I can't rate this place highly enough, breakfast was amazing, everything was just amazing! It really did make our wedding night special and finished off perfectly an amazing day. Thank you so much :)

This place wont be for everyone, but if you like the idea of a quiet welsh farmhouse with amazing views, rooms and service - with lots of added character, then this IS for you :)

Tips: The owner does have a working dog and is not always there, but there is always a phone number to contact should you need to get in touch. There is ample parking and I am informed that Rhandregynwen Hall is dog friendly.

Room Tip: Call in advance or book through laterooms.com.

Whilst this is a lovely little place to stay, the organisation behind the scenes is a little chaotic! Once we arrived, we were kept waiting for about 15 minutes whilst they tried to find which room we were booked into! But to their credit, we did arrive half an hour early. Were slightly disappointed when told that they'd not got round to vacuuming our room but would do so when we were out later that evening. On returning to the room after attending a friends wedding, the room still had not been vacuumed, but put that down to us maybe taking what seemed to be the only key to the room?!
Breakfast whilst plentiful was a bit slow, but very tasty though.
The problems we had were only minor, so please don't be put off. The owner is a really friendly chap and is quiet proud of his "As seen on TV"!! :-)

I fail to see how you can complain about the property when you arrive early. The cleaning was taking place when you arrived and as we check in from 4 and you arrived at 3.30 . You asked the cleaner to show you to your room, of course she did not know which room you were in. It is really unfair to ask to use the room and remain in it for several hours and then expect the cleaning staff to return. It was only the vacuuming that remained to be done. If you arrived at 4 it would have been ready. I am sorry if the breakfast was slightly slow , I allowed a few minutes for you to get juice yogurt fruit and cereals before the cooked breakfast was served.

Our room, which looked out over the front of the property, was incredible. The bedroom incorporated a lounge room. It was so large.& was a 17th century room with an incredibly large bathroom, that was 21st century. I mistakenly left my shave kit behind & Mark found it & graciously posted it onto our next destination. Thank yo so much.

We booked Rhandregynwen Hall on the lasty minute for an event nearby, excellent accomadation, excellent breakfast, my wife is already looking for an excuse to go back.
If I have to knit pick then the bathroom floor was cold in the Rhandregynwen room were we stayed, it is supposed to be heated but it wasn't on, I didn't ask and it really is minor.
The Rodneys Pillar Room does not have an integral bathroom -it is across the landing and doesn't have a jaccuzzi bath like the other two.
It does take a bit of finding, print out the directions and read them carefully, sat nav alone won't get you there.

Room Tip: avoid Rodbneys pillar if the lack of an integral bathroom bothers you

We stayed for one night on our way down to Pembrokeshire from Scotland and were very pleased with our lovely room and excellent breakfast. The house has been very tastefully restored and the grounds beautifully kept.

Stayed at Rhandregynwen Hall in August and thoroughly enjoyed the experience!
Arrived and was stunned by unexpected size of the property and very well maintained garden and lawn. Extremely friendly little doggy was there to welcome me and the owner, Mark, was very accommodating and it showed how proud he is of his place! I have learnt he managed to turn around what was derelict building into place of luxury and I think he succeded indeed! Red carpet is the first thing you notice when you walk through the door, and you feel like royalty already. I stayed in the bedroom which doesnt have the en-suite but private very large and well equipped bathroom. Light and airy bedroom (2 windows) with floor lengh curtains. Big comfy bed, quality furniture, good seating area, large telly, it was all there. There was nothing missing in the room. Full lentgh mirror in large spacious wardrobe, fluffy bathrobes, spare blanket, hairdryer, tea and coffee in abundance, you name it - it was there!
Bathroom looked extremely expensive - marble tiles, large corner bath, separate shower, quality toiletries. Towels were soft and good size (not tiny things some places provide nowdays).
There was large bench outside with table where I could sit forever listening to birds and forgetting civilization is not that far away.
There was good selection of fruit and youghurt at breakfast and sausages from the cooked option were delicious!
I will definately return to what is an absolute value for money quiet and luxurious place and will recommend to others!

Room Tip: all rooms are different. Ask owner at the time of booking to help you decide.
