We visited the Rob Roy inn passing through to visit the Trossachs - we have eaten here before and the food was ok, but the place is now under new management as of January 2012 so we decided to give it another whirl.
We ate in the bar area and found the Rob Roy Inn to be an excellent, great value traditional Scottish village pub, with great honest food and drink, served by great staff and interesting locals.
The menu, while not adventurous serves up your traditional pub grub - we had the potato skins and jalepenos stuffed with cheese to start - both fresh, tasty and plenty of them.
For mains we had the burgers (with meat from a local butcher apparently) that were perfectly cooked and served with plenty of chunky pub chips and salad. I also opted for chilli with the burger which was fantastic and full of flavour, one of the best chilli's i've tasted!
Overall you're not going to get Michelin starred food here but thats not the point - you do get great value honest food in a handy location served up by great staff. One suggestion would be to add some specials to the menu, though there was plenty to choose from.
Also if its quiet i'd opt to eat in the bar where there's a real log fire!
Grab a table in the bar, get the warmth of the fire and the chat from the locals
